That island really has nothing, except the full moon party once a month. It would be a waste to stay there for 5 nights. The only island in that group to stay long for is Samui, which lets you reach all the other islands easily.

To play devils advocate, these luxury hotels are for people who really like being away from things and mainly enjoy staying inside their luxury hotels and relaxing looking at the ocean view. Not for everyone. Probably not the type of people going to a full moon party haha. Thailand is pretty affordable so this doesn't look like much of a deal unless this type of luxury is your thing. Looks more like a honeymoon place where two people spend most of the time together to unwind

Nah, man. I've done both and Koh Pha Ngan was great. I met some French and went with them to dinner. Drove my motor scooter up to the top of a super steep driveway that was very sketchy having nearly zero motorcyle experience. The sun was setting and they sat me on a tatami mat. Get the menus, and I'm going to start with a mango lassi. Frenchy says, I'll have the same and one joint. I was like, "Duh, fuk?". Then out comes a couple of beautiful lassis and an ashtray with a perfectly rolled spliff with the little folded filter in the end. It was both super relaxing to watch the sunset with the girls, and sort of surreal wondering if I was going to be executed, but I was young and they were hot, so pass the dutchie. Long story short I made use of my tetanus shot banging on a rusty Jeep in the jungle before I made the mistake of telling the mushroom people in the tree house that I was 100 kilos causing me to lose my sandles in the pile of 10 or 20 sandles out front before the aliens came.

Then there was adventuring around on the motorcycle other days, snorkeling, one of the best meals I've ever had in a little fishing village, massages, and a full moon party. It was a wonderful 3 days or so. It was still one of the wildest adventures of all my travels, and I've done rickshaw rallies in Sri Lanka and been in the Cameltoe Club in the middle if the Iraq War, so not totally inexperienced.

My only reason I'd recommend against this is because I'm an adventure tourist and I don't ever stay anywhere 5 days in a row, but as I get older or if I had kids, I would. For reference I paid about $20 a night for a private bungalow on the southern beach in 2011.

i'm seriously considering it. Inexpensive to be there and relatively inexpensive to fly there.

To play more devils advocate, this is a 4 star hotel calling themselves 5 star, that, on certain dates, i could get the same price (115-122 a night) via agoda and not be stuck there 5 days.

Thailand has enough well priced luxury, or right on the beach, places, please look around and not just take advertising as truth.

Samui also has some nice resorts that look damn near identical to this one. I actually thought it was the hotel my friend's wife worked at that I hung out at, it's so similar. Ko Samui is a good time y'all.

Checked out agoda, some seriously horrendous reviews. 13+ hour delays, bookings not in hotels system when showing up and nothing being done about it .
Your experience?

You can stay for much cheaper if you don't want the hotel luxury experience, which sorta sounds like you might be looking for.

Depends what you are looking to do. If you are looking to party and socialize with backpackers or go to full moon party. This is not it. This is on an exclusive quiet part of the island. I know because I met my wife on the full moon party. We got engaged and married on this island in this quiet northern part of the island. It's a good quiet getaway for families if you don't want to mingle with the mass tourist crowd in Samui.
