How is it possible that woot has official apple cases already? I bet these are not genuine.

Anything about apples phone cases comparing to $20 phone case on Amazon to justify the extra cost? Or is it just the brand?
These have a touch sensitive camera control button much like the button on the phone itself. Most third party cases just have a cutout instead.

Lots of people are instead going for these Apple silicone cases right now because most third-party case manufacturers released cases with a cutout for the new Camera Control button rather than a capacitive touch-compatible button like these cases have.

Have my fingers crossed that my preferred case makers will be releasing updated versions soon.
Personally I found the silicone case's capacitive cover hard to use. The button is much more intuitive uncovered

Clear case is there … the Apple branded one I used on my 13 pro for 3 years and never turned yellow … so I will get one for my 16 pro now ..

Hopefully it will stay long
Don't you think it's too slippery to hold?

That's the thing, by their very nature the Speck and Otterbox cases I normally buy for myself and my wife have expanded sides to cushion for drop impacts. Seems to me that those particular cases will either need a very deep passthrough capacitive button, like the Apple silicone cases but thicker, or to remain with the cutout. I didn't like the cutout in my Speck Presidio2 Grip cases the day I received my iPhone 16 Pro... But after a week with it now I've gotten used to it and find it still a worthwhile tradeoff for the protection it affords me (Been using Speck cases since iPhone 4).

I came so close to ordering that sweet-looking Ultramarine Apple Silicone case just now to play with... It's a FOMO thing as well. the discount code on Woot! these are "only" $29.99 there right now. Alas, I have jumped on Woot! deals for these in the past, when they got down to like $10, and I ended ups hating the Apple case so much for its lack of grip and lint-magnet capabilities - I'm used to the tactile grooves on the Presidio and CandyShell lines I guess.

Oh well, if you like these cases this is a fantastic deal for now considering how soon after launch it is! I wonder what Apple will inevitably replace FineWoven with now that pretty much everyone agrees it sucks lol.
As a fellow long-time user of Speck grip cases (using them since the iPhone 5 myself), do you find the "new no-slip inverted grips" to be a lot less grippy than the original Presidio Grip / CandyShell Grip cases? I'm still sporting the iPhone Xs with the Presidio Grip case and love it. I haven't dropped that thing or had it slide or fall in the 6 years I've had it.

Last year I bought the new Presidio2 Grip for my wife's iPhone Pro Max 15 and it felt very slippery compared to mine. Since it's inverted it doesn't grip to the table/desk/bed when you put it down. It can also slide out of pockets. We had to return it because it didn't offer much more grip than her clear plastic case from Apple. Since then she's bought another (Casekoo Magic Stand or something, and it feels just as slippery to me).

I just pre-ordered the 16 Pro Max for myself since it's a huge upgrade over the Xs and am wondering what the grippiest case is these days. Based on my research so far, though, it seems like I may have to give up that extra drop protection and get a plain old silicone case, which funnily enough I've never had on any phone in 16 years.

I now only buy official Apple cases directly from Apple. They're covered by a 1 year warranty and have brought them in many times for scuffs or scratches or peeling at the 1 year mark or sooner for a brand new one. Have never been refused even with minor damage. All phone cases get beat up within a year or sooner. So it's like getting 2 for the price of 1 and worth it to me to pay full price for the warranty. If you buy an official case elsewhere, they don't honor the warranty. I'm not sure if they will warranty the replacement case as I usually get a new phone every 2 years with my cellular plan.

They also let you change to a different color of the same case if you want to change the color a year later. Just my opinion. But if not from Apple this is a very good price assuming it's genuine.
I've only ever bought mine from third parties (Target, Bestbuy, Amazon, etc.) and Apple has always replaced mine as well. I've always kept a receipt of the purchase though because I was asked for it once.

I think silicone cases have protection on the bottom, but the clear one does not.

So you have an IP16 with a 3rd party case and you are saying you are fine without using capacitive button on the case ?

iPhone 16 pro, using no case currently, but if going 3rd party would opt for no cover over the camera control. I found using it through the apple silicone case's capacitive cover to be very clunky. TBH the camera control is clunky even uncovered, but it's much easier to fine tune settings and "half-press" without any covering on it. Hope this helps

I wish they just made it a simple button that clicks to open the camera and take a photo. They had to get weird with it and it's so lame to use Frown moves the phone when trying to take a photo because you have to "hard press" or "full press" or whatever other bs vs "half press" or "swipe to do whatever I didn't really need this button to do".
