It's a good school laptop. Especially since it has a 16:10 ratio (1920x1200). Despite most people thinking Acer is junk, I've had a lot of luck with them. They are well balanced for the cost, easy to upgrade (with respect to SSD - some of the machines will have spare RAM slots- not this one though). I also like the option of having the USB-C port as another charging option. The convertible design comes in handy also for school. Even though it has no P cores, I render videos on some older machines that benchmark 20% lower with no problems. It's a lot a bang for the buck. Just to be clear I upvoted you

8GB max RAM, no USB-C charging, and the i3-N05 is all E-cores (no P-cores). Still not bad for a touchscreen 2-in-1 for general office tasks and web browsing.

**Correction** This does have USB-C charging (verified by FuschiaTable6909 and Rtings), making it an even better deal.

The memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded. All LPDDR memory is this way.

Grabbed one yesterday. Impressed with the build quality, size, weight, and performance for the price. It's not going to win any awards, but for a small form factor IPS screen laptop, brand new, for $250 w/ minimal bloat? Sign me up.

Browsing / YouTube watching is excellent. The IPS screen looks pretty good, you can enhance color pop in Windows settings to make it look even better. Wish it got a tad brighter, but for $250....I ain't complaining.

Windows 11 has been great so far, too. Easily Microsoft's best effort, especially in Dark Mode. Looks slick. The convertible feature works better than I expected, but don't expect an iPad.

Overall, I'm more than impressed for a $250 "new" laptop, unlike a lot of these used laptops being posted on here. Form factor is great, Windows 11 is great, no squeaking solid build quality, fairly light, fairly quick. An all-arounder. This was purchased to replace a top of the line year old MacBook Pro my GF was given during her job. She changed jobs and had to purchase her own laptop. Considering her old laptop cost 10x as much, the new one is about as functional as her MacBook Pro (for her workload). Glad we got in on this deal.

Strong agree. I now separate kids school from kids gaming. Use a laptop like this for school work and very tight controls in MS family center. They also have gaming computers (age related) that school work doesn't touch. Cuts down a lot on distraction and like prices like these, totally doable if your budget isn't too constrained.

Thanks!(for clarifying/confirming)

That made my buying decision. Was able to order online.

Should be a keeper, able to speed-thru most (overly) fancy websites. Target stores allow returns of online-purchased notebooks within 30 days (not sure if Apple products).

For $250, grabbing one is a no-brainer.

The entire Acer Spin line has impeccable build quality with an amazing keyboard (really, it makes the MacBook keyboard feel like typing on mashed potatoes).

The specs are appropriate for the price and use cases, despite some of the complaining in the comments.

It can be taken out of Windows S Mode if you need a full desktop experience and you can get an Android emulator to make it double as an Android tablet.

For gaming, Sunshine and GeForce Now are both viable options.
