Been using for years and it's great. Grabbing another at this price.
I should add that I have only ever used it for MacOS and my iPad Air. But it has worked without an issue for me though it does get warm. I got a specifically a thunderbolt rated cable for use with it.
These are TB3, but have 2x TB3 outputs and 1x Displayport, meaning you can connect upto three monitors. This isn't common with docs, let alone one for <$50.
So thunderbolt to MacBook Pro and both displayports work on dock in extended mode? Or only mirror mode?
Bought it last time at $55 and running 2 2k monitors and MacBook Pro screen in extended mode. Love connecting only 1 cable for everything. The sound output stopped working once or twice but rebooting fixed it.

I had a hard time with Lenovo dock.. on Intel Mac had to do one DisplayPort on dock and 1 usbc on MacBook… then on M1 Pro, same thing but hdmi on MacBook
Sounds like this solves that issue.. 1 thunderbolt to Mac and both displayports work on the dock no need to plug anything else dongle or hdmi on MacBook to get extended mode!?!? Great if true and I might try it
What's the difference between old version and new version?

This is the same one I bought. Forgot to mention my MacBook Pro is M2 Pro - pretty sure non pros can't do 2 displays + internal. The dock connects to my MacBook, then each 2k display connects to the dock with DP. Power, USB and sound all go thru the dock as well.
Is this a regular price for this? I am not in need of this ATM as my MacBook Pro is very old, but wondering if it would be useful in the future when I upgrade my MBP. But I haven't kept up with if TB3 is a thing or is fading away in favor of USB-C

This is a much bigger dock physically, though.

Intel - Extend and Mirroring
M1-M4 - Mirroring Only (Unless lid is closed or Mac mini/Pro)
M1-M4 Pro/Max - Extend and Mirroring
iPad Pro only supports one external display currently.
To use with 2 external monitors extended, yes lid will need to be closed. I use an M3 Air with a Thunderbolt dock (different one).
