"how to sleep 2 hours a day and feel fully rested" tells you all you need to know. There may be truths in the book, but certainly there's some things that are not possible/sustainable.

Personally I approach advice like this as things to try to see if it works for me if I have that issue. Rather than dismiss it out of hand or slavishly accept.
But get it from the library 😉

There was a Seinfeld episode about the reduced sleep schedule thing. Kramer woke up in the East River in a SACK

The slow carb diet from this helped me lose tons of weight a few times in the last 15 years
bought this book a while ago and yep, slow carb actually is a solid foundational diet. i was able to lose a significant amount of weight on it.

recently ive mixed a bit of the slow carb with lyle's psmf to remove the weight i've gained during covid and parental deaths and it's worked out great.

the 4 hour body is a decent book, i'm more skeptical of the 4 hour work week. but most of ferris stuff is pretty ok or at least not intentionally a grift

Yes. I can't believe people buy his sh!t after all these years.

He's been essentially retired and making money off of podcasts that cater to people's desire to work less by being entrepreneurs. His advice is vague and frankly stupid.

Somehow this guy became an "angel investor" (where'd he get this money and how'd he end up here after studying East Asian studies??) and got lucky with the tech boom the last 15 years. He fails to mention how that is allowing him to live his "4 hour" workweek which consists of making podcasts and writing these books.

I lost close to 25 pounds in a 2-month period following the slow carb diet without straying. It worked for me at least. I didn't workout as much and looked more toned which made zero sense but... it worked.
The reason you looked more toned is you lost some of the fat that was covering your muscles up. It makes perfect sense.

I agree, slow carb & cheat day does work for many and the 4HB workouts are more like HIIT which also work. There is substance behind his click bait title/one liners, unlike many, but he has made changes/updates on some of the content and I can't track it all. Would be nice if he updated it. I barely look at his content these days.

This guy is a hack. "If books could kill" did an episode on his previous book where he literally admits he's a hack

There are books about simple investing practices that will produce a million dollars at 62 years old if you start at 22.

3/4 of the country could be millionaires at retirement if they followed it.
What book is this?

I'll give you the Readers Digest version.
Start with $150, then invest $150 per month into an S&P 500 fund, and leave it alone, for 40 years.

Fundamentally, for most people, weight loss is simple. But it is difficult practically, hence obesity epidemic. And America isnt the only country suffering from it.
It's simple if #1.People stop being lazy. And #2 start eating more whole foods, not prepackaged crap. And both go hand in hand.
There are very valid reasons why so many ingredients allowed in US are banned in other countries. Simple Google search.
And, what goes hand in hand with that is trusting government agencies.
