Obviously, not as good as a vacuum bottle at insulation. But much lighter and more importantly squeeze-able. For me riding on a bike, it's much easier to grab this without stopping and take a drink than the metal vacuum bottle I had before. Not to mention lighter.
I would say in a non-scientific test, I get maybe 4-5 hours of it being cold.
In a cheap target bike bottle that wasn't insulated at all I got like an hour.

I usually have the second one as a reserve of just water or will even freeze it depending on heat so by the time I go thru my first bottle I still have something left to drink.
I guess a TLDR - insulation does make a difference.

These cages are sturdy and look good and are inexpensive.

As an aside, I know that somebody tested different brands of bike water bottles and how long they kept things cold if anyone is interested - but, again, at only $10, these are still a very good deal, regardless.
EDIT - Just did a quick google and Consumer Reports actually has a free article where they name the Camelbak Podium Chill their top pick. If you read the article, the author had the same experience as me - he said it keeps the water cold for 2 hours, but after 3 hours the water was no longer cold (in direct sunlight).

Really helps to have "cool-ish" water the entire ride.
