These goddamned Gretsch deals on Adorama are really starting to piss me my wife off! I mean how the hell am I supposed to say no to this at a Squier Affinity price???

That is not a criticism of the guitar or the deal. The original price of the Bigsby version should be $600, but Adorama listed it as $500, which is the original price of this non-Bigsby version. Adorama then took 48% off the wrong original price and sold the Bigsby version at $259, thus the pricing error.

No. I'm the head of my household, not my wife.

So the previous bigsby model was indeed a pricing error.

It was indeed a slick deal anyway.

Indeed...
Though honestly if you don't need the bigsby, this might be a better guitar since you don't have to deal with the tuning stability issues. I'm just hoping that a filtertron deal pops up.

Pretty color. If I didn't already get the Mako Bigsby I'd be tempted

Digging the color on this one. Yes, agreed with previous poster that you have better tuning stability without the bigsby. Note that you can add a "wiggle stick" by purchasing a Les Trem system without drilling any new holes. IMO, I think the Les Trem system is superior to the Bigsby and easier to maintain.

How was it a pricing error? I bought it, and it's a really nice guitar, and the Bigsby is interesting. The hardware on it is distinctive and pretty high quality. Sounds good, if a bit different from the Fenders I have. Delivered to my door, $282

ah, thank you for clarifying that the Bigsby ver. was $100 more, and Adorama kinda bit the bullet and honored the deal anyways.

The thin U neck scares me away. I need at least a C on the chunky side.

I bought the Mako. This guitar is nothing like an Affinity. The Affinity is worth it's sale price. This Guitar is worth close to it's retail now that I have played and heard it. Very good quality on the one I got.
