During transportation, these fluids shift around, and if plugged in like that, the oil can block the refrigerant from circulating properly, inadequate lubrication of the compressor causing damage, and decrease efficiency.
I'm pretty positive all of the complaints that we are seeing here are exactly caused by this small detail.
Samsung and LG make nice fridges but...reliable?? Samsung fridges are widely regarded as some of the most problematic [usatoday.com] fridges on the market. LG has literally had multiple class-action [consumerreports.org]lawsuits, including another one filed just this year [nbcwashington.com], regarding its faulty compressors.
I'm not saying I wouldn't buy fridges from either brand, but it's definitely misinformed if not disingenuous to say 2 of the least reliable fridge brands on the market are the most reliable.

I got similar one from Lowes few months ago & going on the third repair service, very unreliable. I'm very disappointed.
Missed out. Had in cart last night, but gone this morning.
Here is the Energy guide for this fridge https://postimg.cc/621ZdZdx
Here is an energy star approved refrigerator with about the same volume of 25 cubic feet, which has a higher yearly electricity use https://www.energystar.
In closing, this Maytag refrigerator is actually very energy efficient.

Can you find a Lemon GE, Whirlpool or Maytag? Sure. But I promise you...if you are not unhappy with your Samsung fridge after 3+ years, you are the exception.
Samsung does phones and TVs well. They do not know crap about a fridge. To add to the fun..unless things have changed, they constrain the parts it takes to repair them. Doubt me? call you local parts shop and try to get something for a Samsung fridge. So you have a fridge that breaks all the time. You MUST call the Samsung Repair service..who can be out in 2-3 days....maybe. And God help you if you do not spring for their extended warranty. You can still save money and time by stocking up on the spare part via ebay and DIY when it breaks again...and it will. But I am betting that come the 4th or 5th time you DIY it, you will not care any longer and will spring for a more traditional name fridge.
Honestly..the fact that you think that it is remotely acceptable to "Hope" a new fridge last 5 years means you do not understand what fridge lifespan is supposed to look like.
And yes, I know...they get high marks in things like JD Power. I wondered about that too and looked into it. JD Power only tracks them for 18 months. So as a reference, JD Power is a joke.
You dont have to believe me but just go see some youtube video that disassabling firdges and compare their seal system in your own eyes. Most if not all use DC linear compressor which it not as reliable as the old AC compressor to start with.
I compared even within samsung models. The samsung bespoke line seems have better material quality and arrangement in seal system comparing to non-bespoke model. Do I like samsung? No, but I have no choice since samsung bespoke are the best for a $1200 fridge. Check Bosch or Mitsubishi which above 3k, it does cost way more to produce good electronic and mechanical parts for a linear compressor. For example, the capacitor can be a cheap korean/Chinese cap or they can use Japanese one that cost twice the money.
I did not take a part the compressor however you know Korean is not known to have good hardware manufacturing (see their car engine). Therefore, it is highly likely Samsung/LG's supplier from Korea is just barely made the part for the cost Samsung/LG willing to pay.
Dont expect to repair these fridges. It does not worth it. If they are done, then they are done. Buy a new one is faster and cheaper in most case.
GE appliance is Hairer company by the way. Same level as Samsung/LG. Whirepool appliance source most of their part from China too. Most likely from Midea.
The only good one I can see widely avaialbe in the US market is Bosch. However, the cost of one Bosch can buy three Samsungs.

You used a lot of words...but you really did not address anything that I said.
Does Samsung contain some decent material? Maybe? Does it matter if it is constantly breaking? NO.
You want to report on who bought who and imply that this means they are now equal.
Uh.....sometimes? But often times that is on paper.
The people, plants, procedures, etc often do not change because they were purchased by another company. At least not immediately.
And maybe GE will go down...but Samsung and LG are already there.
Hey...I like Youtube University too. But I am telling you that in this case, they are gaslighting you.
You can't point to a good capacitor and say this means this non-working fridge is better than the working fridge that does not have that capacitor.
You can't convince anybody that fridges are now supposed to be disposable and you are certainly not going to convince me that I need to spend over 2K to expect a fridge to last 10+ years. I simply have enough life experience to know the BS that is.
