Yes Google voice worked for verification without unlocking it once get device pay $3 to unlock GV for porting or try activate with new number YMMV or port different number on activate page.

These Automatically unlock with only 1 month service after Activation on 60th day can confirmed unlock date by texting UNLOCK to 611611

Just ordered this as a backup phone I plan to use on Textnow's Free Essentials Plan after it unlocks in 60 days.
Google Voice Number Unlocked = $3.00

Did the deal change to only require the $55 plan now?

I see that the Samsung A54 also changed from requiring just 5G+ to inclusive of just the 5G plan also

It was like that when I ordered it, but when you select Total 5G plan, device price not changing to $0, I had to select 5G+ to get this deal.
