Metro didn't give me a SIM so I used eSIM, which I think is absent on Stylus before the 2024. I think staff at these companies forget about SIM cards, because many phones have eSIM.

I never trust any retail store for Metro, Boost or Total. They find a bunch of hidden fees to fatten the bill.

The phone reps [more than 1] argued with me that the moto g styl 2023 does not use esim... im looking at the settings while talking to them and tellin me im wrong. Bunch of useless script readin foreigners handling things they shouldnt

Have you tried to activated it on tracfone website instead of total? Not sure if that could bypass the new number requirement.
Nope, I just activated with my GV#. Surprising that Total Wireless called me back immediately to tell me when they will finish porting my GV number.

If you just ported number today you need to wait a day or two until it's completed, account isn't active until number finishes porting.

It seems there is no logic with Motorola phones. I didn't expect this more expensive phone is missing LTE band 28 which is very important when traveling to Europe and Middle East. The Moto G power 2024 has support for this band so I assumed this more expensive phone would also have it. My fault too for not double checking prior to placing an order.
I saw 5G band 28 (aka N28) is enabled for my Total By Verizon Edge 2024 in 5G/LTE debugging information, after dialing secret code *#*#4636#*#* :

All Enabled Bands:

i bought the phone and it finally arrived. now, i cant get it activated. im stuck on where it says "who is your provider?" and when i select any provider, they ask me for a number transfer pin or something similar. I tried getting a new number but that doesnt seem to work either. any thoughts?

Are you porting a number from Google Voice? If so you have to set up the PIN when you try to call your voicemail on the PC website. Otherwise you call the previous provider and tell them that you need your PIN so you can Port out your number.

They both are owned by tracfone, as far as I know, you can freely switch sim between locked straight talk/total wireless/tracfone/simple mobile/net 10... phone.

I got the phone. It's surprisingly high quality. The poled screen is as good as my iphone 16 pro with punchier colors. And it's fast enough, and charges super fast.

For those that used a GV number to port in. How long did it take? Did I do it correctly? Paid $3 to unlock GV number first. Went to activation page through desktop. GV number for account number. Selected "OTHER" for carrier. Voicemail pin for pin number. Google's address for address.
Immediately after status check said "We encountered an issue while processing your port. Please contact our Customer Care Center in order to resolve this issue."
Now under lines/devices it says "Activation in Progress Your device is in the process of being activated. Please wait five minutes......."

Also. After the phone unlocks and I go back T-mobile will I be able to swap in my T-mobile SIM and go if I have a financed phone under that line/number? We have 3 lines. Two have financed phones and one is unassigned/unused. Will they require me to pay off the full balance of my financed phone if I try to use this phone under that line and if so is their a way around that (ie swapping my old primary to the unused line to continue making payments and putting the edge on my primary)?
