Yes Google voice worked for verification without unlocking it once get device pay $3 to unlock GV for porting or try activate with new number YMMV or port different number on activate page.

These Automatically unlock with only 1 month service after Activation on 60th day can confirmed unlock date by texting UNLOCK to 611611

tax is based on device MSRP listed on page at local % for shipping zip code. Mine was 7% so $19.xx tax+plan cost each A54

If you would like to take a small risk, actually you can do it.

1. Login into your account and just activate your shipped phone with a new number. If you do this quick enough, you actually can activate it with new number.

2. Add another phone and when check out, login in your current account and you should be able to get the discount and also skipping the ID verification if your last ID verification is not too far away.


Of course, there are some small risks: for example, they sent out the wrong phone and the phone you activated is not the one you get. Or the phone got lost in the shipment and it make it difficult to claim your refund since you already activate it...

Can not get 2nd phone discounted, only show 2nd line monthly fee lowered to $30/month.

Yep it's a Hotmail issue I ordered this for my mom who also has a Hotmail and having the same issue. Doesn't seem like verifying isn't too important but we should try to report this.

I am in the same boat. I am not sure if they have "fixed" it or I am suspecting another factor. I'm myself didn't port in for my initial order and choose a new number instead. I wonder if this is the reason a discount will not apply for the second order?
