It's been a hassle to activate this phone. Serial number and sim card number don't work. I believe I used GV to port in. That's not going thru for some reason. Shouldn't be this hard.

When I go to the Total Wireless web page to activate my SIM card.. it asks me if I want a new number or want to port mine is. When buying the phone, I put my Google Voice number to get the discount.. but I'd prefer to get a new number? Has anyone here tried requesting a new number? If I select this will I be charged for the full price of the phone? Note: I already have the phone in my hand so they already mailed it to me.. just wondering if I select I want a new number when activating the SIM card if they'll try to charge me for the phone?
I am curious to know this too. Thanks.

Does anyone know what will happen to the auto unlocking if someone is out of country during the unlocking time. (Probably gonna be out of USA for that week and won't have the service)
I have not done this on Total. But, I have done this on Metro 1-2 yrs ago, back when their policy was like 3 or 6 months to unlock. Granted, it wasn't an automatic unlock like this seems to be. I had to click the request unlock somewhere in settings. At first , the request failed. Once, I Vpn into a US server. I signed up for like a random VPN trial. It unlocked. So I'd say if the signal doesn't have to go through the tower and can go through wifi, you can unlock it while oversea.

No need to. One month is enough.
Do you know is it 60 days after activation when the phone is unlocked? Does it unlock automatically? or do we need to contact Total Wireless by phone or web site to unlock? This is actually my first "locked" phone lol so I dunno how it works here

It unlocks automatically after 60 days. Don't have to contact them.

No one has reported being able to order more so don't know. I ordered different phones during early summer & still can't place new order.
