Please note of the following text:

For all cellphones Activated with TracFone on the T-Mobile or AT&T networks on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked upon customer request after twelve (12) months of active TracFone service.

For all cellphones Activated with TracFone service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically, sixty (60) days after Activation."

If your existing phone number is on T-Mobile or AT&T the you will have to wait for 12 months until your phone unlocked ?

No, only the 30 days you pay for with the phone.

I'm curious why this phone is getting so many more thumbs up than the Samsung A35? I love motorola phones in general, but the Samsung is upgraded longer. Is the Edge that much better of a phone, or are more people not bothered about longer upgrades? I know some change phones often, but we like to keep them as long as possible.

Is there anything that needs to be done for the unlock? Is it automatic?
Will it work if phone is outside the country?

My guess is the phone has to be able to be reached by one of their towers for the automatic unlock, so probably not.

Can you change to a lower priced plan after the first month or are you stuck at $65?

It's a month-to-month prepaid plan you are buying with the phone to get it for free, so once you activate the phone, there is no requirement to stay on any plan.

You do NOT need to wait 12 months for your Total Wireless phone to unlock after porting in numbers from T-Mobile or AT&T. That "after twelve (12) months of active TracFone service" verbiage from older business practices that pre-dated Verizon's acquisition of TracFone and other brands. TracFrone used activate new lines of service on several different carrier networks, but now they ONLY activate on Verizon network so the (60) day policy applies.

Does anyone have the model number? I want to check if this Edge will work on at&t. I checked for the A35, and its model number (sm-s356v) is not on the list of at&t compatible phones.

Day 1: Order with GV number or any number which is not Tracfone related. This is just for getting message.

Day 2/3/4: Whichever day the phone ships, immediately (dont delay beyond few hrs) login to your account and go to Manage Lines page. Select the IMEI from the dropdown. Go to activate page and select Activate now under "New phone Purchased through Total Wireless.". Click I want a new number radio button and enter your zip. Input the copied IMEI in the next page and follow the next prompts for activation. Once the activation is successful, the Manage Lines page will display the phone number instead of IMEI.

Day 3/4/5: Whenever you receive the phone, just pop in the sim card in the phone and text UNLOCK to 611611. You should receive confirmation message with unlock date 60 days from the day you activated the phone online. Enjoy your new phone.

PS: I am yet to try step 3 as I haven't received the phone
Does the gv number get ported to Total wireless or it remains with gv?

It was slow AF to startup, the battery died multiple times a day and I'm not a heavy phone user, the service was also slow. The phone would freeze dozens of times a day. I bought a Google pixel after that one and it was night and day. Lastly, when I switched phones, this one sat for a couple months and when I tried to restart it to access some of my old info, the phone would no longer start up. Was never able to restart it. I thought I had had bad phones before and then this one changed my mind.
Interesting. I have had an Edge 23 for about a year. While it can be a little buggy, it's overall a great phone IMHO. Lots of storage, great screen, speedy, charges blazingly fast. The 24 version in this deal has a better processor than mine (which has a MediaTek) as well.

Thank you! The att compatability list doesn't have that model. Not sure what to think of that. It actually doesn't list the 2024 5g at all, it just has a 5g, which I at first thought might be how they listed the 2024 model. But it appears it might not be, as the model you gave doesn't match and there are other years with 5g in the name (I thought maybe just the 2024 was 5g or something, but no).

The list has many Edge models, just not the 24. Wish I knew how accurate this list is, as the Samung was my first choice just due to longer updates, but that model isn't on the list. I love motorola phones so would still be happy with this even at the shorter update life, but only if it would definitely work on my Redpocket at&t plan (gsma plan).
