There are two main ways to take advantages of this deal.

- Minimum spend approach is to do price match in store. You spend less and get back less.

- More bang approach is to add 2x 24 pack ($23.99 ea) + $2.02 filler to qualify for their free bonus item. They used to offer more variety, but there is just this red tote right now. https://www.officedepot.com/a/cou...=marketing
Then, when you are ready to redeem your $47.98 rewards, you can add a filler again to qualify for whatever bonus item they will have for a $50 purchase at that time (Yes, this works. I've personally done it).

You can do it each week they offer the deal.

I bought one today (9/30) so I could recycle 10 ink cartridges for September. I will buy one another day this week so I can recycle 10 ink cartridges for October too.
Hi, how long does it take for the rewards to post (100% back and recycling). Will they post before the end of October?

Mine usually post within 7-10 days at the most.

I have not found a good Amazon price for a price match this week. Has any of you found a good price somewhere else?

Thanks. Although I want to spend close $10 but $15.69 is still better than what OD wants to charge on a 16ct AA/AAA.

Can the price match be made only in store? Don't we have any option to make it online before placing the order for pickup?

Costco has 40 pk batteries AA or AAA for $17.99. You must have Costco membership.

Be aware that Duracells are still known to leak. Not an issue in fast drain items, but they ruined a thermostat, multiple flashlights and a remote of mine.

I don't think so. If someone says yes, hopefully they will explain exactly how.

This won't help because the packages have to be 16 ct or 24 ct.

Lucky for us, most everything we use batteries in are fast drain items. I have had them leak in the package well before the expiration date, but so far Duracell has been pretty good about sending coupons for free replacement packages.

I really wish Office Depot went back to giving 100% back on other types of products other than just batteries. I know they do it every once in a while but it seems like it's becoming much more rare.
At this point I've about given up on that and would be happy if they just offered 100% back on OTHER Duracells... like 9v and D cells from time to time.

Yes, Costco is definitely a better price up front, but you're not getting that $17.99 back to buy something else like you do here at OD. Plus, the real deal here is when you also recycle 10 empty inkjet carts for an additional $20 back (each month when you spend $10+ the same month on new items.)
My math is pay around $16-17 for 16 batteries (PM to Amzn or WallyMart) and recycle 10 empties (from $2-$4 total, from a bulk (100+) purchase on 'bay, or scavenged elsewhere.) Get back ~$35 in rewards to spend on K-cups or other misc. items (on sale).

Best bang for the buck is still to minimize your spending with pricematch instead of going for the max just to pickup a cheap $5 tote (yes, even if it does have a $25 tag). Stick Out Tongue Just need to include inkjet recycling as well for the most bang.

They had/have a dedicated department since the problem got so bad. Mine was over $500 and they just asked for minimal documentation. I quit buying them years ago and had zero issues from Energizer. From reading reviews online Duracell still has leaking problems. Just good to be aware if they are going in valuable items.

In store purchase: Rewards post next day for batteries and ink. Online: I think the battery Rewards post the day after they ship.

Expiration is end of the month of the transaction + 3 months, except if you purchase on the last day of the month, then the expiry rolls out an additional month. E.g. an in-store purchase on 09/29/2024 would result in Rewards expiring 12/31/2024, while a purchase on 09/30/2024 would result in expiration on 01/31/2025.

You can pm an online order, but if it's only for a few bucks, I don't have the patience for it with OD. Open an incognito tab or clear cookies and you can often get a 25% off email coupon if you browse their site for a minute or three.

It would be nice. They used to do reams/cases of paper, pens, sharpies, various office supplies, totes, even coffee on rare occasions. It's been many years, but in the days of rebates you could cash out your Rewards by buying FAR copy paper.

They did that occasionally too. Duracell rechargeables were included at least once or twice.

Oh well, there will come a time when the boring Duracell AA/AAA and ink recycling combo are remembered as the good old days of Office Depot too. I honestly don't know how my store stays in business other than print jobs and the 'I pay full retail for ink & toner' people.
