Why's this so expensive? Nikon's similar lens is full frame and cheaper than this.

I think you're paying a premium for it being compact, quality glass, and equivalent focal length. Full frame Nikon 150-600mm should have exactly 600mm of equivalent reach. This has 300mm-1200mm of equivalent full frame focal reach.
