CableMatters has a different USB C 240W cable listing (according to pictures markings are different at the cable ends) they list as USB-IF Certified. Makes me wonder if they're clearing out non-certified cables here.

USB-IF Certified listing (1pk 30% off):
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BGYRRT3Z/

The listings, including feature call outs in the graphics, seem quite different, including safety features. I would rather buy the certified cable personally. It's not like you're plugging these into cheap devices, but more likely laptops.

Maybe, someday, something will support PD 3.1 EPR 240W mode. A lot of gadgets pass through my hands and I've yet to find anything that will take more than 100W over USB-C.

I think only laptops draw that much power. HP ZBooks have been capable of 140+W over USB-PD since 2022 at the least. My Core 12th Gen ZBook 15 Power G9 does that.

Excellent catch. USB-IF Certification matters quite a lot to me when I'm working with pricey devices. I may have inadvertently jumped on this deal if you hadn't caught that, and brought it up. Thanks!

my laptop psu is the 180w mode "36V/180W" so I guess I'll see if these really support it or not.

FYI the data speeds are USB 2.0 from 20 years ago. This is true for most cheap charging cables. Just pointing this out for those who may not realize it.

There are 6' 240W PD 3.1 charging cables on Amazon that do 20Gbps for $9.99.

Of course, if you just want this as a charging cable, it's a charging cable.

Are these cables support the connection to the docking station that connects monitors via DP?

These seem to have a better chance of being true 240W cables than the Lisen branded ones? But at double the cost of when the Lisen's go on sale.

No control chips yet, sadly.

16 inch MacBook Pros with M2 or M3 chips support 28 volts at 5 amps over USB C equaling 140w.
