This is a way better deal than the $249 version from Best Buy that only has 4GB of RAM.

A new one with a much better processor just got released, thats why they are trying to dump the old stock with these deals.

Agreed. I got the $150 lenovo deal on the 4gb Duet 3 last month, but returned it because it got too slow if I tried to do anything with more than a couple tabs open. I thought that would be fine for my kids, but it was still painfully slow anytime they needed me to help them with anything. Going to go with this instead.

I see them at Walmart, for a hundred bucks. For anyone that knows anything about electronics, it's still overpriced. They'll have to give them away.
It's the 4gb version

Says it has a 1.4 display port, so I'd imagine so.

I bought the first version of this (Chromebook Duet, Model: ZA6F0016US) in (correction: July 2020) and it's still working like a champ and I use it a couple hours a day and charge it nearly daily. End of Life has been extended to 6/2030 for the device I just looked up.

Looking for something like this, but BF is just around the corner. Then again, supply chain disruptions are looming. Decisions

Is ChomeOS good for media consumption? I want to use this as a tablet but I heard that Android is more suited to a touchscreen than ChromeOS is.

I also remember hearing that it doesn't support the DRM used by streaming services but I don't know if that's still applicable

ChromeOS is like in-between the spectrum of a PC and Android. For media consumption primarily, I'd say ChromeOS is superior but if you use a lot of android apps, then obviously natively android is better. I have an old laptop that I installed ChromeOS and hooked up to my TV and works really well for web based media consumption.

I bought the 4G version when it was on sale last month. I only have 3 tabs open max. It has no problem playing YouTube, Amazon Prime. Hulu, however, stalls randomly and never plays again (it's not just a temporary buffering). Fast forwarding 10 seconds and then back 10 seconds "fixes" it but it's still annoying. It doesn't happen on other devices I own.
