surprised this is not getting as much love as the target acer spin 3.

Though granted, this is a Intel Core i3-1215U vs Intel Core i3-N305, the Spin 3 does have a touch screen.

i3-1215U is actually quite a bit faster than i3-N305, though less energy efficient.

Good question . . . If it helps your decision - the Aspire Spin 3 has soldered RAM which cannot be upgraded. Reading the reviews of the VivoBook indicates you can upgrade to 24GB RAM which may help your 11yo in the coming years as they enter middle school.

TN Panel vs IPS is a huge difference IMO. Let alone the processor difference and the ability to use it as a convertible.

For $220, though, it's not bad if you couldn't get in on the Target deal.

I got this used for $110 out the door. Came nearly brand new. Only problem is the SSD, everything else is OK.
