Anything under $50 is usually 99.99% plastic, just checked, yep this is plastic.

We've been using this many many times since 2018. It changes your single head shower outlet into a double head model. You could turn one mode off and use the other mode exclusively. The drawdown is that the knob to do that change gradually wear out to a point of too stiff. We just remove it and put on a new one. Good product overall. Oh, the two pieces are not magnetically attached to each other but rather with a dent to hold it in place.

This has a 60" hose, may not be long enough for some, especially if your shower mounts high and/or getting your undercarriage is important, and that's why you get this style. You may want to opt for others with a 6' hose.

Dont buy this. Breaks and starts falling apart. I replaced the ones that came with my house after it fell on my head for no reason.

I'm sure the plastic is fine if installed lightly and not touched often. But if you even tighten it a little too far, it's bound to crack. Or drop the sprayer, I'm sure the plastic is bound to weaken. I prefer the metal ones, it's much more forgiving, even if you tighten it a lot.

I ended up going through numerous shower heads and returned all of them when it came time to replacing my 20 year old one. Returned everything mainly because of aweful water output, even after removing restrictor. After checking reddit, I tried a recommended Hammerhead all metal showerhead. Greatest one ever. Actually sprayed water, not crappy fine steams mixed with air. Best $90 I ever spent.

under 50 for name brand that is. as the name itself worth like 40 dollars by itself.

if you going no name brand, like a rain shower head, you can got stainless steel.

it is not that i don't think name brand doesn't worth its cost, it may indeed has better valve and parts which i would trust more if i were to install a facet that is subject to house water pressure at all times., but this part isn't subject to house water pressure, so pretty much you just end up paying the name

The heavier the item is, the more likely it's better quality imo. Big brands will use cheaper parts like plastic, which ends up being lighter. You think about it, cost of shipping for heavier item and the material cost itself.

Yeah weight is a good indicator, since the heavier the item the more likely its metal or brass and not just pure plastic. Price is a hard one to go by too as the more expensive one, someone else posted well over $100 when not on sale was also pure plastic but in stainless steel finish.
