It is a great tool to use with you table saw. Magnetically, you atttach it to the blad and ensure your various degrees are perfect. I don't know of any other use for it than use with a table saw. I have a knock off that I paid around $20 and Klein (which rarely goes on sale) is the brand you'd want to own. The knock off works but at this price, it's a steal.

If you're working in ferrous metal, the biggest benefit to this over a phone bubble app is the magnetic edge. Stick it to whatever you're working on and you're hands free.

Instead of a laser-cut scrap, I have one of these and recommend it for square calibrations: https://www.amazon.com/Kinex-4033...op?ie=UTF8

0.0007 inches = 17.78 microns

I purchased this a while back...works great. Very helpful for setting up saws during woodworking (and for quite a few other uses).

I am sure this has its "industrial" uses. For my needs the measure app that comes free with the IPhone does the job.

I would not calibrate anything with this. I have a cheap laser cut right angle that's precise to the microns and that's what you should be using to calibrate the set screws on your saws.
What laser cut right angle device do u recommend

After a few months of indecisiveness, I was going to get the slightly larger version of this to replace my broken Wixey. Does anyone have any input on the larger model, or why it would be a bad idea?

I bought one of these to replace a broken Wixey. It's much better build quality.

This mostly used by electricians when bending the conduits to stop at the right angle. It also works for carpentry. I use it as a compact level, more precise and easier to read.

Mine angle finder died after two years of limited usage but it was great while it was alive.

I couldn't get mine to read consistently. Tried multiple times on both sides of my table saw blade after leveling on table surface. I bought the cheaper Trend Digital angle finder, and it performed better. I'd agree the Klein has better build quality but if I can't get consistent readings, it wasn't worth keeping over the cheaper, more accurate alternative. Ended up returning the Klein sadly.

When using it with a miter saw, just remember to remove it from the blade before making a cut. I definitely did not destroy one with that mistake…
