Lego has to spend years paying extremely talented people to engineer the sets. It is not overpriced, they just aren't only covering production and shipping costs by stealing the work of other people.
Buying knockoff is whatever, but don't claim the genuine article is automatically a ripoff because knockoffs exist.

Have this set and it's fun. More of a display piece. Price per piece is distorted as mostly made up of smaller pieces.

This is an awesome set...for display. Amazing the tiny Easter eggs here and there. It's a great set. This, like the other architecture style sets, is for display and not for play.

It's not the large one that is roughly $450. Duh. If you get that set for your kids, you probably don't need to worry about LEGO sets going on sale

Sounds like some of you were hoping this was #71043. If that's what you wanted around this price, check AliExpress. They also have some outstanding lighting kits to go with it.

I just experimented with my first AliExpress set. $44 Voltron compared to $400+ what people are asking on eBay since it is retired. Obviously took longer to get here but it looks just as good as the official version.

I thought that I saw the Disney Castle. Maybe read up on how to shop for them before jumping on something. From what I've learned… buy from choice sellers, look for a good number of reviews and how many they have sold. I also want to see review pictures before I add to cart.

I bought the castle set posted here off eBay for just a little less, so this is a good price for Lego. It's a cool looking display set.
