Really good deal. 7900XT is about 15-20% faster than the 4070 ti Super at rasterization (obviously about 20%slower in raytracing) while being about 10-15% more affordable.
If you can afford it, awesome for you!

But I assume you're referring to minimum wage workers who have no kids/other responsibilities, no rent expenses, no bills, no food requirements, no savings to set aside for rainy days, no retirement investments, no college savings to pay into or debt to pay off, no income tax withheld, etc., etc., etc. (Essentially a 14yo working at Chick-fil-A while living with their middle-class parents.) Yeah, if they didn't have all that and more to consider, then you're rightโ€”even they could make up the difference in less than a month.
7900XTX at $700 will make it pretty tempting over RTX options.

Check your credit card. Some will add an extra one-or-more years of warranty up to a combined max of 3, 4, or 5 (depending on the card). My Chase Freedom card does that.
There are limitations to warranty claims on CC'S. Interesting thing is i got this from microcenter open box for $679 over a year ago when they were easily $799 and popup sales for $749. It had the balance of 3y warranty which was 2y 9months at the time. Did asrock shorten warranty?

Question for the PC gamers out there. I know the GPU is the major cost in a build. If one were to buy a 7900XT, what kind of cost would one be looking at for the remainder of a system? Id imagine that depends on the quality of parts so let's say parts that match the 7900XT rather than bargain bin crap. Disregard a monitor as well.
IF you can drive to microcenter their in person only cpu/mobo/ram combos are insanely cheap compared to normal market prices. You're effectively getting the ram and mobo for almost free. My i7 build about 18 months ago was $350 for cpu/mobo/ram. $47 for an open box 850 Watt modular power supply (just missing a a cable I didn't need) $50 for a case on NewEgg. $45 for a 1TB ssd. I did spring for a AIO liquid cooler bc MC had a very good one for $60 open box.

Don't forget to check for a $25 off new customer coupon and if you haven't opened a credit line in a while their card gives you 5% back always and an initial bonus of like $50 off. My screen did cost $1600 but it was a Samsung OLED I alreash blught for my living room TV.

Add in some extra fans and after discounts I probably spent $500 on the computer and $820 on the XTX. I had 12+ months left on a zero apr intro rate Wells Fargo card so I paid that off $75 buck a month.

If Microcenter isn't an option it's probably better to find a renewed gaming PC deal like some recently posted on here and then just upgrading the GPU. Even if your diligent about checking Newegg and Amazon for deals your probably not gonna save any money building your own without the MC cpu/mobo deals. Mobos are expensive relative to the rest of the computer compared to when I built computers in the 00s.

Unless you're buying a 4090 or at least an XTX the GPU Is going to be almost your entire bottleneck for gaming. So go mid range on the CPU and spend the difference on a better GPU.

You also might want to wait and see more info about the next gen of cards. The 7900xt might still be a great deal in 6 months or you might have gotten close to 4090 performance for a few bucks more. If you go the renewed route might be best to sling the 3080 or whatever it is as soon as you get it on eBay bc once the new generation comes out 2 gen old cards tend to drop significantly in value fast.

$636.52 after tax but need to use affirm which is another $16 of interest, so $652. The MSRP is $679.99 so I'll just wait for black friday.

7900XT is absolutely a great choice. I would take it over the 4070 TI Super anyday.

What's the smallest case this would fit in (within reason) with decent airflow? I want to build a "small" gaming pc with something like this.

Your gpu should be 35 to 40 percent of your total build cost.

Asrock 1 year warranty FYI - i would get the extended warranty for 3 yrs if anything,
Buy a 3rd party warranty if you have to, don't give newegg more of your money.

This is a great card and a great price. But if you are interested in doing AI workloads today, they are unfortunately all geared toward CUDA and tensor cores. I didn't think I would use that stuff when I got a 3080, but I ended up using it much more than I anticipated.

Bought Nvidia for the DLSS and stayed for the AI compatability.

No one "needs" such a powerful card these days with AFMF2 which just released. Its nice to have an 7900XT, but its not a necessity.

Would you recommend the 7900xt over the 4070 ti Super if I used it for PCVR gaming? Maybe like 30% VR and the rest 1440p
It is 1-3 percent faster in raster and around 25 percent slower in rt. U are just making up numbers lol

This is a great price for a card that you can essentially ultra settings all modern games. If you care about Ray tracing , this card can do it but on lower ray tracing settings hitting on average 30 fps. But considering the price that it is right now, this is an amazing card.

Solid deal, I bought this around 650 without the game bundle :0 so i guess Kay come down to how much you value the games too;

either way the 7900XT even without the games this would be a solid price point

AMD is fantastic if Ray tracing is not on your radar. Nobody who buys a GPU is powerful as this is going to be happy playing any games at 30 fps.
