I've played about 50 hours of Chaosgate. I'd say if you're an XCOM fan and aren't turned off by the 40K aesthetic it's worth a try. It has some rough edges but I think the tactics are super fun. I'll try to briefly sum up my thoughts on it below.
The bad: It's poorly optimized, expect it to make your machine chug. Mission and enemy variety are a bit limited, although not too much worse than in XCOM IMO. The game does a poor job of explaining some of its mechanics, which means those starting hours can be rough. You also don't unlock most of the fun abilities or even classes until you're a good bit into the game.
The good (as I see it): It's fun tactics. I like the move away from hit percentages for shots and the narrow field of view for overwatch. The game is much more melee focused, which is fitting for 40K as I understand it, but having one or two ranged only characters on your squad is perfectly viable. As you get further into the game you do get some really fun customization options between gear bonuses and the ability trees. Powerful abilities are balanced by costing willpower (basically your characters' mana) and increasing the chaos meter (which gives the enemy a powerful bonus every time it fills up). Mission rewards feel meaningful.

Anyone play Chaos Gate? What are your thoughts on it? It kinda flew under the radar for me somehow but I absolutely love XCOM:EU and XCOM2. Those are pretty much my favorite tactical style games like that. Is this Warhammer pretty comparable to that or does it fall flat?

Rogue Trader and its DLC are both on sale right through Steam, at least. Rogue Trader was/is such a great game too!

Own all of these and Chaosgate may be my favorite. Certainly and x-com clone.

Battlesector is solid TBS fun but rather short unless you buy into the DLCs. But even for not being extremely long the story and play are great.

Inquisitor is great for some diablo-clone goodness. There is a package on steam that is mighty tempting if you don't have either of the games (original game Prophecy, stand alone expansion Martyr) all 21 pieces (yup...martyr has 19 dlc) are available in a package for $18

How is it compared to Gears Tactics?

Should I get of these, never played warhammer games.
Not sure what to expect.

Got Warhammer 4000 Space Marine 2 for free, for buying new cpu.
Was thinking of just getting space marine 1.

Are you using Space Marine 2 or would you consider sending the code?

Awesome. It sounds like it's worth the time if I can just get passed the beginning hurdles. I've played some Warhammer games and enjoyed Dawn of War II a great deal... so much so that I purchased and beat all the DLC which I don't do for many games. I was let down with DoW3 so I've been lurking for a successor. It seems like this may be it even though it is not at all the style of game like DoW2. The customization options is what really draws me into tactics games like this and if they nailed that I'm pretty excited. Thanks for your valuable insight! 😊

Was thinking of selling, but a bit hard to sell. It comes with 2 games, can't be separated.

Need to input code on amd site, download a verification tool, and need specific model of cpu to activate. If you have supported cpu, it should let you use it.
