Grubhub hijacked my credit card twice within 2 months...will never use them again.

GH's service fees are outrageous (as most food delivery services are). A $26 Chinese food order I placed last month turned into $43 after adding service fees & ~$5 tip. Perhaps a 50% discount will even the total charge out, even if delivery only.

Yes Im finding I only use grubhub when a good deal that allows pickup comes across the notifications, those service fees absolutely ruin value

Supposedly, but I've had an account for years and it worked for me. Probably varies. I logged into my account and I saw the banner. I was surprised it worked for me. It might be worth a shot to see if you have it. YMMV.
Worked for me, too (not a new member).

These delivery services are a joke. I only occassionally use Uber Eats and only when they do a 40 or 50% off deal. That basically gets it down to being the same price as picking it up myself. Most places jack up the menu prices on top of the fees the delivery services charge. Unless your physically disabled, there's no excuse to use them except laziness.
Some of us don't own cars.
Stop judging other people.

That's not true.

Plenty of times it is raining or snowing or for whatever reason you dont have access to transport - delivery services are great, esp with coupons.

If I can get my food delivered in a timely manner for the same price it costs me to get in my car and get it myself.

Even if it's a few dollars more than getting it myself rather give the driver a nice tip and enjoy my night in.

Post reeks of poverty level brokeness

If you cant afford delivery apps dont click any Slickdeal with them featured. Simple as that. Always a few in every deal complaining about the high fees and tipping instead of realizing something that people did 100s of years ago - you PAY for convenience. You dont want to pay or are unable to then you dont get that added convenience.

Good deal but GrubHub is circling the drain. There are only 9 restaurants on the platform in my area and only 4 which will deliver to me. There are 3x as many available on DoorDash or Uber Eats.
That sounds like an area problem.

Like the other commenter said, 50% off these services is basically bringing it down to the price you would pay if you ordered it in person at the place. So, if this deal works for pickups, it'd be a true discount since you'd be avoiding some delivery related service fees and tips.

How strange! People expect to pay the same dine-in/pick-up price for a meal that's delivered to their door step.

It's Amazon's fault, they've trained everyone to think all delivery should be "free" Wink

Yeah if I could pick it up I maybe more inclined to use it. But with the fees and adding like $2+ on every menu items you may save a couple dollars after delivery and tip charges

If you're paying for GrubHub+, then yes, that's kind of the whole point.

Grubhub menu prices are higher then the restaurant prices so it's that + service fee

Not only are the fees ridiculous, the food is priced higher too.
