True, but the posted unit has free shipping, while the closest Menards to me is a 70 mile round trip, so another $10 in gas to pick it up.

These seem larger on the ad page however they are small. 40"-42" is more practical. I prefer 48" wide. Height is too low also. Look for the 5 shelf models at about 70". If it is not in a box or tote of some sort, everything sits awkward. Liquid in plastic containers sometimes distorts and leaks because of uneven weight points. I love these but these smaller ones are not all that practical, for me anyway. I use cardboard for shelf liners.

Not sure what budget you have in mind. I just randomly typed wire shelf liners on amazon and the first one pop up is 25 for 5. May be you mistaken the price for each liner?

These look like they will work fine. Add $25 to the cost of the shelving and you are in better shelving range. I cut large cardboard boxes into shelve liners. That works excellent. Cut the full size of the shelf and notch the corners to keep from moving around.

I've never found liners for wire shelving that aren't ridiculously priced. Would appreciate any pointers to reasonably priced ones as I have a bunch of wire shelving.
I recently paid $18 for "Shelf Liner 48"x24", Clear, 4PK" at Zorro....about the best I could do, coupled with 20% coupon, 4% CB, and free shipping (combined with other crap to reach free shipping threshold)...about the best I could find for the wider shelf liners.

I need shelving for a 28"x28" space next to dryer but 24x24 would be less cramped. For whatever reason square racks of this size are stupid expensive. I guess two 12x24/28 front to back would work but far less accessible from sides. Can anyone point me to a solution that's not $120+?

Can this be split up into 2 units, with one that is one tube in height with two shelves and the other two tubes high with two shelves, one that is one tube up and the other at the second tube height with no shelf at the bottom, where taller boxes can be stored on the ground under the unit
Yes but you don't have 2 sets of feet nor threads to put them into on middle tubes

There is not enough production volume for squares - they will always expensive

This one says it's rated for 450 lbs. The other one claims to be rated for 1,000 lbs. From the photos of both, however, they look like the same design in terms of frame, shelves, wire pattern, etc.
On my computer it says 250 lbs per shelf, so for 4 shelves that would be 1000 pounds total.

Similar experience. Specific things worked well. The random ones would not fit.
