Thanks OP! I just added a google voice number to my google account and ported that in. Takes no time at all. You'll need to go to GV settings and pay $3.00 to unlock the number. You'll also need to enable the "Call to Listen" setting under Voicemail which will let you set a PIN which Metro will ask for. You'll also need the google account number which is just the phone number.

Is it possible to to .. put att sim/t mobile sim first without turning on the the phone and then directly restore the phone using itunes so that it does not activate esim at all.

I also ordered on Thursday, I haven't got a shipping email, but checked my UPS app, and it already shows the package coming from Metro, it shows the package is on its way to UPS

Don't delete the GV number on your end, you need to contact google support to get them to fully transfer the number to Metro. Tell them you ported the number but you still get calls on the web GV and it still shows there. Their turn around is relatively quick, last time I think they did it in 1 or 2 days from what I remember.

I followed AlpineMan's advice which was the same as yours and not delete the GV number myself. I called Metro's porting dept today and they were able to force the completion of the porting of the GV number to Metro right away. The GV number was removed from my GV account automatically. Thank you for your help.

No. These come locked to metro. They are not flex locked.

port or no port will be based on the phone you want. example the moto g stylus 2024. you can port to get it free or $19 for new number.

The best free phone is the iphone 12. You can add it as a second line to your existing account. It will cost you $35 shipped. It is currently oos. It went in and out of stock several times already. You will need to port in a number. You can use the Google Voice number.

The best free phone ($35 shipped) that is in stock right now are the Moto Edge, Moto G Stylus 5G and Samsung A35. You will need to port in a number.

Depends on your use case. For $35, the iPhone 12 (if/when it comes back in stock) is a good trade-in device. However, if you want a backup device, the galaxy a35 (w/ micro SD slot & 120hz) is a steal for a really new phone with 5 years of updates (the Motos won't get updates like that).
