It's prepaid. Nothing to cancel unless you set up Autopay. If you don't pay for month 2 you lose service.
If I have a phone number I'd like to keep, what do people usually do? Port to another carrier before the end of the month?

Port to another carrier if you need to do that for a deal. Else, you can "park" the number at NumberBarn.com for $2/month and maybe a $5 port-in fee.

Based on years of experience with Metro it should. They unlocked when it was 90 days to unlock, when it was 180 days to unlock and now they will at 12 months.
  1. Will this applies to all phones( iphone 16 ,...) ? Can we pay per just first month and then leave it for 12 months to get auto unlocked?
  2. Can we port the number used to get this deal or let it die due to non payments for the service for rest of the months?
  3. Can we use this phone for trade in after one month of service?

1. Yes
2. You can do either. I ported out an iPhone number and it still unlocked. Probably safest to let it die.
3. Yes

Bought Rsim MKSD 5.6 on Ebay for $12 and this sucker is now unlocked. Worked like a charm.
Do you need to keep MKSD in sim all the time? Or you don't need it once unlocked? Thanks

Yes, since it's prepaid you can port out. Will just stay locked for 1 year but you can use MKSD.

I don't remember the number after the decimal. I went ahead and updated to 18.
