Thanks OP! I just added a google voice number to my google account and ported that in. Takes no time at all. You'll need to go to GV settings and pay $3.00 to unlock the number. You'll also need to enable the "Call to Listen" setting under Voicemail which will let you set a PIN which Metro will ask for. You'll also need the google account number which is just the phone number.

The line will be automatically suspended on Day 31 if you don't make payment for the 2nd month. Cancelling it before that doesn't get you any money back. I've had many Metro phones unlocked after the waiting period (6 months because my phones were activated before May 8th, under the old terms) and each had only one month of paid service.

Autopay is off by default, unless you turned it on yourself. You can log into your account to check/change Autopay.

I also joined the $5 plan but it needed to ship me the sim card so now I must wait for the card to arrive before getting port out info.

I have an iPhone currently with eSIM capability so I bought a $5 visible eSIM and then ported out the number.

Does anyone actually know if the MKSD 5.6 sim unlock chips work? I ordered on of eBay due to some people recommending them to me, but I'm not sure if this is just a scam.

I do not see an option for a five dollar plan.

Is it possible to order more than one at the same time? I ordered one, tried to login with the phone number and pin I just created. It fails to login. Would it be okay if I place another order as a new customer again?

Once the menu popup, which mode did you select? There is no instruction that come with this. The menu changes over time
