Yes this also happened to me. Metro website is finicky at best.

Did this tech issue error come before ordering the discount phone or later after you received the phone?
I just tried a different browser, same thing. This is a fairly new account, and I am trying to add a second line by porting-in from Visible. Earlier yesterday I actually had gotten past this step and even entered my cc info, but it failed at the step where it connects with the carrier to get the number reserved. After waiting several minutes it came back with "Your number transfer cannot be transferred at this time. You must cancel your transfer to continue". So I cancelled the transfer, removed the phone from the cart, and tried again. I tried a few times in succession (maybe I shouldn't have done that!). I think this error was because Visible wasn't releasing the number - I remember reading in this thread that some folks were not able to immediately port out of Visible. The last time I did it was 2 days after I had opened the Visible account and this time I had opened the account only yesterday afternoon.

At around 1:00am PST I noticed that all Metro iPhones had suddenly gone OOS, but 2 minutes later they were back in stock. I had noticed the same thing a few weeks ago - it looks like Metro does some sort of system update at 1:00am PST. Anyways, this is when I decided to try once more and then started getting the technical issue error. I wonder if it is due to some issue at the Visible end with my account.

One of the interesting things about the iPhones is that they will show warranty coverage based on when the device is physically activated, regardless of purchase or line activation date. At least that has been my observation in the past. For instance, if you go to checkcoverage.apple.com and enter the serial # of the phone you physically set up, it should show a warranty expiration of a year from when you set it up, while the sealed one will show that it needs to be activated before giving your warranty date and will then show a year from when you set it up the first time when you do that. Now I kind of doubt that Apple would actually honor a warranty for a phone that was left sealed in a box for a year before being physically activated (I would guess they might want to confirm a sales receipt or something). But having that warranty coverage showing a full year as if it was a new phone if you go to sell it down the road could be a bit of a reassurance for a buyer that it was indeed never used. Not a huge deal, but just one of those things that can factor into it.
That's a good point. For my physically activated phones it shows the warranty expiration and also the purchase month/year. For the sealed 12 that I have it doesn't even show the purchase day/month and just says the following:

Activate Your Device
We're unable to display coverage details because your device hasn't been registered. Please contact your Apple product retailer or your wireless carrier to register this device.
Interestingly, on sickw.com it actually does show an estimated purchase date (which appears to be correct).

You can do it on TF web site with or without having the phone in your account (if you plan to sell it later, activate it without logging into your account). Click on ACTIVATE near the top of the screen, select that it's TF phone (not a BYOP), enter its IMEI or SIM number depeding on which one the site asks for (the IMEI and SIM number are on the Red Card) that comes with every TF phone. You don't have to unseal the phone.
Thank you. Next time I will attempt for both Android and iOS phones.

Look at the metro activation details on account page, it shows activation is when the online activation is done. Much before physical phone activation SMS verification.

Anyone know if MKSD will work to use on Cricket and other MVNO's? Or only Tmobile MVNO like Mint and Tello?

I made 2 orders 1.5 weeks ago and the 3rd order got the dreaded please contact us screen. Tried twice with no luck. I just tried again after waiting a week and the 3rd order went through. At this point I think the velocity of adding new lines may be one reason why some people are getting denied. I vaguely remember someone mentioning they were able to order several waiting a few days in between rather than activating the line immediately when the phone ships and then adding a new line right away.

were you able to use the mksd card? i have the same issue as well
I first put the sim with the mksd in an unlocked iPhone and went to setting, cellular, the metro number, sim app to choose MetroPCS to configure the mksd. Then I put it in my locked iPhone and it worked. But this morning, the signal turned to sos and no long worked. I'm looking for solutions to deal with this now. But it could be the problem of my own mksd

I tried with ATT and Mint sims and those both works. I tried with Visible and it doesn't work. I heard that t-mobile also work. BTW, the ebay listing offer seller pay shipping refund. Why not try it out if it doesn't work.

You don't have to port out if you don't care about that number. Just make sure autopay is disable so they can't charge for the next month.

yes but you have to order a physical sim. To bypass phone capability just select IOS and select any iPhone.
