Please help! I got the phone today and I currently have an active Metro physical SIM I want to use with it. When I move it to the iPhone, it doesn't work. No calls or texts.

I ported a number from Visible and didn't activate the Metro service from this deal. I just moved my physical SIM.

Do I need to activate the service first then move my existing SIM? Thanks in advance!

The phone you got is currently paired to the line that you used to sign up. You will need to switch the line to a different device (either an unlocked phone or an unpaired Metro phone) before you can use another Metro SIM with this phone.

Metro lines are tied to a specific IMEI/phone. You can't stick the SIM in random phones without customer service changing it to a new device.

Maybe it can be done online? I haven't used the online portal for metro, so not sure.

365 days from activation. Only one month of paid service is required.

Yes, you can do it yourself using the MyMetro app or web site. I transferred service from the eSIM of my Metro Moto Edge 2024 and Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 to other phones before selling them.

Not directly but after ebay rsim hack. In the past Tmobile/metro could be swapped.

In addition, does the transfer effect the unlock if I end up keeping the phone?

I don't know the answer. I've always kept the phones that I wanted unlocked active for the full 30 days. I guess if you want to transfer service AND unlocked then keep the phone active for as many days as possible. I've read posts from someone who transferred out soon after activation and still had the phone unlocked.

I had an account from Aug to Sept 2024 with 4 phone lines (two iphone 12's, one Moto Edge 2024, one Moto G Stylus 5G 2024) and 2 tablets, before Metro blocked further orders. It was under my brother's name, address, email, card, and never ordered to that address before.
