How come this is a great deal if you need to wait a whole year for it to be unlocked?

I've been getting the "Sorry, we are currently experiencing technical issues. Please try again." error when submitting my porting info (account #, transfer PIN and zip) since 8 hours ago, are any of you also seeing the same?
I decided to wait it out. I tried again this morning (Friday) and was able to get past this step! What's sort of weird is that I got asked the identity verification questions which didn't happen previously. Anyways, iPhone 13 #2 is on its way!

I first put the sim with the mksd in an unlocked iPhone and went to setting, cellular, the metro number, sim app to choose MetroPCS to configure the mksd. Then I put it in my locked iPhone and it worked. But this morning, the signal turned to sos and no long worked. I'm looking for solutions to deal with this now. But it could be the problem of my own mksd
I have the same issue. The MKSD works with a Tmobile SIM, but eventually I get Searching for Signal and have to open the sim tray every time. Also the iPhone only gets LTE with the MKSD, it doesn't get 5G. Is there a fix for this?

I made 2 orders 1.5 weeks ago and the 3rd order got the dreaded please contact us screen. Tried twice with no luck. I just tried again after waiting a week and the 3rd order went through. At this point I think the velocity of adding new lines may be one reason why some people are getting denied. I vaguely remember someone mentioning they were able to order several waiting a few days in between rather than activating the line immediately when the phone ships and then adding a new line right away.
I think you are onto something regarding the velocity of orders. Also, if you encounter an error don't repeatedly keep trying like I did. That will likely raise a security flag.

Typically, one can get TWO discounted devices per ACCOUNT. Member aabbccbbaa could only got one phone in one of his accounts, but he had ordered under his name to that address before, so Metro could've counted the previous device toward his total. You can open another account under someone else's name, email, card to the same address, but Metro also has an (unknown) limit per street address. So, keep ordering as many as you want until they start blocking your orders.
Update: I was able to order 2 more phones in a new account in my name, but using a different email, CC and ip address. The mailing address was the same except I added a unit number. Will see if I can order additional phones. Unlike with the previous accounts, this time it seems there is good stock of the phones and there is still lots of time to keep playing the game. Also, I think user dvdrdiscs is onto something regarding the velocity of orders - it may be a good idea to slow down the pace of orders. I'm also tempted to apply for grace extensions on the previous 2 accounts and see if I can order another phone using each.

It sounds like altering the address probably triggered the extra verification questions. I ordered a phone about a month ago and then decided that the half-price on extra lines was too tempting to pass up as long as I had the opportunity. So I ordered a second one last week (when I wandered into this thread). I used the same address and all went smoothly with that order. Then, I decided to order one more before my first line expired. For that one, I logged into the same account, but tried shipping to a different address (hoping to avoid getting blacklisted for future orders). When I did that, the webpage said it was going to ask me additional security questions. But it seemed to hang at that point and no questions came up. I then went back and tried to place the order again, but kept getting the "unexpected error" and no luck completing it. So I went back a few hours later and started over but opted to have the phone shipped to the same address as the first two. At that point, I was able to complete the order with no errors or extra security questions. I'm guessing that I'm probably at my limit now, but I don't intend to order any more for a while, so hopefully won't have a problem down the road if another good deal comes along in a year or so.

That's a good point, it does seem likely that the change in address triggered the identity verification questions.

If the new phone is shipped after the extension has expired, you can't activate it.

True, that's why I plan to order on a Monday. But they will most likely be used for trading in so it's ok if they aren't activated. Even so, can't I activate them on my new account by doing a device switch on the active lines?

Just trying to understand his deal a little bit better, if I have a Tracfone with an active number can I use that to bring into this deal to get the iphone by porting that number over? I'm just trying to get the phone.

Also, what would I have to pay out of pocket monthly and for how long to keep the phone? I essentially just wanna get the phone and Use it for the least amount of time possible and then use it as my main phone (which has a regular T-Mobile plan, not metro). In this case, would it matter that the phone has to wait 365 days to unlock or would it not matter because metro and standard T-Mobile are the same carrier?

A member on another forum said transferring service to a previously-activated Metro phone or a BYOP phone is free and can be done yourself, but transferring to new, never activated Metro phone requires help from a rep and maybe $25 charge. I don't know how true that info is.
