So if we disable auto-pay on this, after purchasing with the discount, we don't magically get billed the $530 discount for the device right? I can't seem to find anything about it, whereas, boost mobile does say they charge you if you cancel.
Currently in for 1 at $179.99 all in, but getting clipped for an additional $530, I could just buy outright and save money while getting a 14 from Apple.

If autopay is off, you're good to go. This huge discount is the only reason Metro threads are so popular!

My last successful Metro order to my home address was in mid-April. I tried again in mid-Oct to get the iPhone 13, still got the "Call us to complete your order" message. I didn't call because I knew it wouldn't do any good.
Have you tried again? I just did and it went through! For reference, my last successful order was in late August. I had used all the 3 identities in the family. I chose the second one I used in May and there was no hiccups. It's a mystery how Metro is blocking return "abusive" customers Smilie

I just tried again but the order didn't go through for a different reason. I picked a Moto Edge for Free + $65 Plan + port in. I provided the correct info for my Straight Talk A15 line & port PIN. The phone kept getting a message from ST that the line is being ported out, yet Metro kept saying that the port info was incorrect. After 3 tries, it told me the go to a store. There is no current Metro phone that I really want, so I won't waste any more time trying.

UPDATE: Damn Metro. Despite saying 3 times that my port-in info was incorrect and told me to go to a store, they somehow got my Straight Talk number ported out TODAY (the port-in shouldn't take place until the order was processed, phone shipped, and new SIM activated). I just checked my Straight Talk account and my line is now inactive. So I lost my ST service and got nothing from Metro, no pending order at all.

TracFone, and it's subsidiaries, e.g. ST, works differently than other carriers. Once the port-out information entered and reserved by the port-in carrier, Metro in this case, TracFone will immediately deactivate the line, marking it inactive in the account. You can still call and use data for that line, but you can no longer port to another carrier even if the first carrier port didn't go through or got cancelled. In other words, you have one chance to port to Metro from TracFone.

The error you got for the first try is intentional on TracFone part even if you entered everything correctly. The error is to give the owner of the line, you in this case, time to notice that a port of the line is being conducted. If you see the courtesy text on your ST line, that means everything was entered correctly at Metro. To fix that error at Metro, you need to enter everything again, port-out info and credit card info. There will be a second error after everything is entered. This error is a Metro bug. To get past it, don't click on Fix the error info again, but click on the red x at the top right to close the error message. Then Metro will proceed with the porting.

You did everything correctly, but failed to get past Metro bug and that's why your ST line is lost in porting universe.

Thank you for the explanation. I've been using TF since 2001 but had only ported out of TF one time many years ago, so don't remember if it took place right away or not. The Metro bug also compounded the problem and I didn't know about the trick to get around it, so the online order failed. Oh well, live and learn.

Also, thanks for the info that the ST line still works. When I saw in my ST account that the line was shown as Inactive, I figured it was dead.

I also lost a Tracfone number the same way a few months ago. Problem was with Tracfone, not Metro. I didn't care to restore it since it was expiring in a few days away.

In my case, it was Metro's fault. Metro successfully reserved the number from Straight Talk, but due to a bug in Metro system kept saying "Correct the error" then never processed the online order.

I couldn't order this online, as the final step asked me to contact the customer service. A customer service rep ordered this phone on my behalf, the phone got shipped yesterday. Let's see how long it takes to unlock this device, after the autopay is turned off.

When does Metro actually turn off the service after we stop paying? My 30 days ended yesterday and my service says suspended but everything still works.

I have successfully ported from TracFone, ST, and Total to Metro many times now, and it is always a gamble with Metro because they can cancel the order at the last step due to their limits and restrictions. If the attempt failed, then my line is no longer available to port to anywhere. The line is not lost, by the way. If that number is important to you or anyone attempting to port to metro from TracFone or its subsidiaries, you can recover it by paying another plan to reactivate the line on the account, which can be expensive depending on which subsidiaries you're dealing with.

I got that Straight Talk Samsung A15 for free + $45 plan to use it later after it's unlocked. The number is new and will die when the plan expires after 30 days. So I won't spend any money to reactivate the line to reclaim the number.
