If you don't have a PS5 yet and don't care about the PS5 PRO hold your horses! Sony and other retailers usually bundle the PS5 console along with a free game included for the same price $449 during BF Holiday.

349 or less. That is with a game. I am not paying the same price after 4 years, not a huge new game library, and Walmarts piled high with inventory.

Four years in and we are still only getting remastered games. PSN Plus is now $79.99 a year, Sony also increased the prices of their controllers from $74.99 to $79.99. The worse generation of gaming ever.

As it's very clearly stated, consoles don't get their components upgraded like PCs. So to hold them to the same standard is completely wrong. By your definition, consoles will never getting 'cutting edge tech', due to how they release in 6-8 year increments. And I'm sure that's your intention all along; to argue in bad faith. Consoles compare themselves to it's peers -- other consoles.

And once again, you ignored the comparable tech of PSSR being equivalent to the upcoming FSR4, which hasn't been released yet, among the other GPU advancements I listed for your own education.
Regardless of how often a PC can be upgraded, this is a brand new current-gen console with no excuse to not have the latest technology. And according to you, it features "bleeding-edge" technology. Yet, that technology has been available in some way for years in general within the gaming space. PSSR is essentially DLSS 3.0, call it what you want but it's fake frames and upscaling - nothing new. It has Sony's name on it, but that doesn't make it new. PC gaming has had it for years now. This is like when Apple releases a new iphone with some kind of "new" tech that's been available in Android devices for years but the fanboys act like it's revolutionary now that Apple does it.

Cope harder with your console toy and we can all call it 'special' to make you feel good. Maybe someday when you're older and have developed a taste for things besides chicken nuggets and ketchup you can build a PC like the rest of us adults.

That's one less buyer. Countless of people will buy it at this price, plus Black Friday and Christmas

Hopefully people will be smart and vote with their wallets, so to speak. It needs to underperform to send the message to Sony that a $700 console with no disc drive shouldn't exist.
Says who? People who don't or can't spend $700? The pro is for enthusiasts. If it's not for you then it's for you. Same as people who spend 4 figures on a pc. It's for enthusiasts, not the average consumer

The industry as a whole is bottoming out.

There is going to a video game crash like in the 80s - maybe not as big and not for the same reasons but this is not sustainable as you said.

Next generation consoles always brought next generation games - four years later and we have remakes and remasters many of which are laughably and insultingly bad for consumers.

This was also the generation where we have seen the most unfinished games. Ship a game out and then take 6 months to trouble shoot the bugs. Dont worry I will be your trouble shooter I just have to pay you $70 plus tax for the trouble let me get my card.

DLSS wasn't "AI-based" the way it's being discussed in its original release, so you should actually be saying "2020", not "2018". Not a massive difference haha, just wanted to point that out that little tidbit.
I think Kairi would have a much better point if the Pro wasn't $700 (!). The point of a console isn't to compare to PC on perf/features, it's to compare on price. The Pro kind of ruins that though.
It used to be more than that. Consoles offered better price value, AND better software quality, AND unique and min-maxed hardware designed from the ground up to play video games. The software had to be tested and done when it went gold because the box didn't have an Internet connection haha. Usually when a new console released, PC didn't even have a gaming part that could reach that level of performance.
Every single one of these points is officially gone as of the PS5 Pro. Consoles are just PCs now, with PC parts, and PC beta software releases and forever patching. At some point Nintendo will be the only one left standing lol.

Once again you fool -- do your research. The Playstation uses AMD GPU, and not Nvidia which uses DLSS. There was never a chance PS5 was going to get DLSS because it was not possible.

Only just recently Playstation was able to aid AMD with developing FSR4, which is the comparable equivalent to PSSR, since PS5 uses AMD GPU. Again, if you even bothered to research the tech in the PS5 Pro, you would know this. Instead, you want to argue and debate the tech and hold it to your own standards.

Remember, you were the one that desired to reply to me first based off a complete lack of reading comprehension -- you did not even follow that I was discussing the PS5 Pro in the first place. With egg on your face, you decide you think you can "win" on some other point, but instead, you complete reveal your lack of understanding on the matter.

ROFL you keep harping on the one and only thing you think matters in this conversation which is that AMD doesn't use DLSS and completely missing the point which is that AI-driven upscaling (ahem, DLSS) the supposed "bleeding edge" tech in the PS5 Pro, has been around for years. Then you have the balls to say someone else doesn't have reading comprehension and can't understand. Bwahahaha.

Btw, It's doesn't matter that I replied to you without reading your first comment (incorrect to state a lack of comprehension, as you have to actually read what someone said in the first place to lack comprehending it), it's that I simply didn't care which you specified in the first place because between the PS5 or PS5 Pro, neither were at the time and are still not "bleeding edge," you fool. 😂

And once again, you are stuck on this point because you don't want to "lose".

And completely ignored the fact that PSSR is based off of FSR4, which isn't out yet. And the other GPU advancements I gave sources for.

Learn the lesson next time before you try to argue your point, and maybe you won't be exposed.

I'd be happy to but something tells me this guy doesn't leave his mom's basement unless it's to buy more action figures.

You're once again stuck on the point that this technology is not bleeding edge. Take your L bro.

I bought a couple disc slims locally on Marketplace for $225 and $260 and traded them in for credit to almost pay off a Pro preorder. For anyone looking for a strat lol.

I'd take DLSS over anything AMD has on offer, now and forever. They'll never be able to compete with NVIDIA at this point. AMD's contracts with Sony and Microsoft are the only thing keeping them afloat. With the rumored evolved upscaling in the 6xxx cards, I don't think AMD will even have 10% of the market in 5 years. And even though I'm getting a Pro, it's foolish to compare PSSR to NVIDIA's current tech 😂.

I'd love to know who sold you those that cheap! Everyone here is selling their slim discs for $400 regardless of the sales going on!

So the disc drive version doesn't play Blu-Ray discs with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision content, only HDR10 and I believe that's the case with streaming and games too correct?
