Note: S24fe appears to work out of the box with a T-Mobile sim as reported by multiple people in the thread.

They will not refund the $75 paid for a month of service will they? I haven't activated it yet, but if the $75 is a sunk cost, I'm going to at least try an unlock service first before returning it. This was also for my parents, but thankfully only needed one. https://www.unlockbase.com/blog/u...y-tmobile/ this place charges $49.99 for metro unlock...if it works, but the reviews on trustpilot are good and says they refund the cost if they cannot successfully provide the code.
Yeah they won't return the $75 so gotta eat that. I might try this too. Thanks! Sucks that phones cost so much.
Hmm - I'm not sure on this. The only element that disrupted me was the Wi-Fi calling. When I turn it on, the phone locks and disconnects from the T-Mobile network and remains in "Searching" status. When off, the phone runs perfectly fine and recognizes my T-Mobile network. I get 5GUC in my area.
Providing a 24 hr update. Absolutely no carrier issue after I turned off WiFi Calling. Able to make calls, text, and get 5GUC on my physical T-Mobile Sim. Thinking I'll never get to use WiFi calling until it full unlocks, but is an ok trade-off for the price.

I went to a tmobile store and got a new sim and it works completely fine now. The sim that didn't work was from 2018 and is a different model. I got a new sim for my phone as well since mine was just as old and both work 100% normal in the S24 FE (including with wifi calling turned on). The old sim model that wasn't working was TM9263.

Just to report another success - I was slightly pensive to open my Samsung Galaxy S24 FE after mixed experiences reported in this thread, but I'm happy I did so.
I inserted my T-Mobile pre-paid SIM into the S24 FE and turned on the phone. After the initial configuration, I have had no problems with this new phone. I did not activate the eSim (Metro actually sent me a physical SIM that accompanied the phone...) No issues with WiFi calling, and I get full 5G coverage.

When you boot up the phone does it show a Metro splash screen or a T-Mobile one?
What is the cheapest TMobile plan compatible with this phone? Buying one for my dad but he hardly ever leaves the house and has almost no use for mobile data. Connect has the 15/mo plan. Is that the cheapest?

Will the 30gig/month data only TMobile sim ($10/month with autopay) work?
Does anyone have any experience inserting a Safelink sim card before powering on? Safelink website states it works with, "...AT&T GSM, T-Mobile GSM, Sprint CDMA, Verizon CDMA, U.S. United StatesCellular CDMA or GoSmart Mobile phone." But I'm unsure if it'll remain locked and unusable like it did for someone on Mint.
Need to replace my son's tcl phone that keeps freezing/glitching and this seems like a good deal if it'll work.
Thanks!

only Metro or T-Mobile SIMs will work. No third party ones, including yours.

Apple has 57% of the smartphone market, Samsung 23% for a total of 80%. 🤯
Motorola and pixel are fighting in that remaining 20% space, which surprised me.
Figured their market shares would be bigger
