nice deal, my warehouses don't have it, but I grabbed one of the ones online as my mother needs one.

I've used this same rice cooker for years and it's still going strong cooking rice 5 days a week

The steamer on this does not work properly. It will not start back up if you interrupt it for any reason - aka checking on dumplings, etc. Returned it for this reason. It makes good rice but not good for other functions.

I have had this model for a few years. My only gripe is that it doesn't have a reservoir to collect the condensation. It just pools at the back and in the lip of the gasket. It's kind of annoying to have to constantly wipe it up.

Stainless steel pot rice cookers have worked for me. Never burned the rice, are simple and can last many years.
Literally 99% of the population of Japan and Korea uses a nonstick rice cooker.

Wash the rice separately. Use a silicon spatula for scooping out rice.
bingo, I've had mine for 6 years with no visible scratches on the pot. I always scrub the rice separately and always use a silicone spatula

There we go, always one. Thankfully regulation is increasingly on my side. Teflon is a PTFE. PTFE is a PFAS (PFOA specifically). PFAS is now regulated by the EPA with a target of 0 in drinking water. But I guess you are OK with eating it because food isn't drinking water. Yes, there are larger issues, but it is fallacious think we can't and shouldn't address the ones conveniently and immediately in front of us. You can vote your dollar every day. No need to wait for regulation to catch up.
Fluoride is poison yet we put it in drinking water. EPA is perfectly fine with certain poisons.

There are ceramic ones. I have been looking at them for Prime Day. Unfortunately the best ceramic ones (Yum Asia) are not going on sale

PTFE is not, and does not contain, PFOA. PFOA or similar chemicals ("GenX") are used during its manufacture, and the hazards associated with them mainly come from environmental pollution by those manufacturing facilities. PTFE itself is biologically inert and is not regulated by the EPA in drinking water.

Buy quality rice, rinse it properly, cook it in a Zojirushi if it's on the budget, if not this will still significantly improve your life anyway even only if it gets you to eat rice more often.

Amazon had better ones on sale for about the sale price. This is a great cooker but 80 is too much as it's very baseline early fuzzy logic with no reservoir. But you do get Costco warrantee so there's that
