About this product:
  • Positioned as the top-tier model in the Garmin line, the Tacx Neo 2T Smart Trainer is among top picks for its wide range of axle compatibility and quiet design
  • It has ANT+ Cycling Dynamics in the firmware, allowing us to use the pedal stroke analysis feature with third party software such as Garmin Edge computers, making it easier than ever to monitor output
  • The latest design makes the trainer more responsive to speed and incline changes, with dynamic inertia quickly compensating for weight, speed, and incline changes to ensure the most realistic ride feel possible
  • A few more relevant details help distinguish the Neo 2T from other trainers. Its max power is 2,200 watts, it measures watts to a claimed 1% accuracy, and it simulates inclines up to 25%

Interested in this but my Domane SL6 came with 105 Di2 which is 12spd. Would I be able to get this.. and purchase a seperate 105 12spd cassette to replace the "SHIMANO/SRAM 9-11 cassette body" that comes with this trainer?

Also why do so many people want the motion plates? What functionality does that add to this smart trainer?

Yes - you can remove the 11-speed cassette and replace with a 12-speed. Removal/installation of the cassette on the Trax is identical to how you would remove/install on a regular wheel.

Ref the motion plates: They allow the bike to move a couple of inches backwards and forwards under your body, so you are not rigidly fixed in one position. Just makes cycling on the trainer a bit more "realistic" (and perhaps a little more comfortable if on the trainer for extended periods of time).

Any recommendations on a high quality but cheaper trainer? Wanting to get more into training esp with winter coming in. Would love if there are any recs on a sub 2-4 hundred one
I'd wait for the Jetblack Victory trainer to come out. They're the folks who made the original Zwift Hub. Very low price at $399.

Thanks for the reply! Still debating on pulling the trigger on this.. vs Kickr v6. Do you think this is better product or not? The price definitely seems better!

This trainer does not come with a cassette, but you should be able to fit a 12 speed cassette on this trainer's 11 speed cassette body.

Anyone use this with wider tires? Curious if a mountain bike or gravel sized tire will fit in the front wheel holder?

This is also available for $900 from REI [rei.com] (thru 12/31/2024) where you get a 90-day return policy on bike trainers. Now I just need to see the motion plates go on sale and essentially you get the benefits of the newer 3M version at half the cost.

Save an additional 5% with the REI Mastercard if you have that.

Has Garmin ever had this on sale while running the free motion plate rebate simultaneously? Just wondering if we will see an offer for the motion plates around black Friday?
