Cats don't want scented litter. It masks their own natural scents.

Do you really think A&H would release the product if lavender wasn't good for cats? One of the photos actually says "pet friendly lavender essential oils?

Wish I could find a litter that was really dust free...

That 1% of dust gets everywhere - hate to see the non dust free.

No, it is toxic to cats.

While it is not deadly, lavender is toxic for cats. Lavender contains linalool and linalyl acetate, which cats cannot process in their livers.

The article is talking about the actual lavender plant (i.e cats eating it) or bottles of lavender essential oil. This product has a tiny amount of added "essential oil" which is likely in name only, highly processed to reduce cost. As I said before, you think A&H actually dumps a ton of essential oils into the litter and ships it without any testing? What one shouldn't do is add lavender essential oil yourself to the litter you have. Also, if your cat has asthma, any scented litter could cause issues. This particular litter is not any more dangerous than another scented cat litter, though. This is a seasoned ER vet posting....

It would have been just as easy to Google whether lavender litter is dangerous for cats. (Spoiler alert: It isn't).

Did anyone read this article. They would need to ingest it. Brushing up against a lavender plant will not cause harm, so it's doubtful that using their box would either.

They could ingest it off their feet while cleaning themselves. AlthoughI doubt it would hurt them, those who are concerned shouldn't buy it.

It most certainly would not hurt them to lick their feet afterwards.
