Thanks for the heads up! The listing says "packaging may vary", so I hope I get the original edition (which the images you posted show). I prefer it over the new edition, which I've played some on BoardGameArena.com.

Is it the same as the Target version: https://www.target.com/p/splendor...t=26391271 ?

Not sure if it's a variant of the original, since i'm not familiar with it.

Amazon is just showing the old cover art vs. new art in your Target link. Amazon does say it may vary so who knows which version you will get.

Lots of love for this game, but I found it dull and horribly uninteresting; Get some colors so you can get more colors - woohoo!

No offense, but just to give some other perspective to would be consumers: it's not for everyone.

I prefer a bit more depth, decision space, and even a glimmer of actual theme.
