8gb ram and 256gb in 2024 is ridiculous. 16gb/1tb should be a minimum given how cheap ram/memory is...apple just scamming people that dont know better

Super good deal. M series chips are incredible. New M4 devices are rumored to be announced at the end of this month. If the newest devices and higher RAM aren't a concern these are a steal!

Neo, I see that you have not touched your Apple Kool-Aid yet. Please, drink, drink so that you can re-enter the Matrix and become a happy lamb.

Same model. However, the Costco one comes with a 2 year warranty (this one comes with the standard Apple 1 year warranty).

Do these really have 18 hours of battery life? How did Apple manage that? Is it the processors? I don't know of any Windows PCs that manage to have that kind of battery life. Granted, you're not spending 1k+ to 16gb of RAM...

The battery life is awesome. I can use my Macbook Air M2 to watch video content for half a day and still have like 15-20% left.

You are totally correct! That is why Apple is making 16gb the minimum for M4 cpus. No more 8GB ram Macbooks. I would encourage people to look for a used 2021 M1 Macbook Pro 14" 16GB 512GB instead as you can haggle and get these machines for $800 on Facebook Marketplace/Offerup/Craigslist as people are desperate right now to get rid of them before the M4 cpus come out at the end of the month. That is a WAY better value than this e-waste Macbook Air with 8GB of ram.
