Switching between speakers and headphones on tv

I finally bought a hdtv for my room and I had a question, I usually game/listen to the audio through headphones that I have hooked to the back of the tv.

The question I have is that is there any way to switch audio sources so I can use the speakers while the headphones are still plugged in? That way I could switch between headphones and speakers with the remote without having to go behind the tv to unplug the headphones.

The TV I have is Samsung LN32B540.

You should be able to select your speakers in the Speaker Select menu

Yeah I saw that but when I have headphones plugged in it doesn't let me select any other option in the audio settings menu.

How are you plugging your headphones into the TV? I also have a Samsung TV and was having similar problems that I resolved.

I bought a pair of wireless headphones where the base needs to be plugged into the TV. When I was plugging the base into the normal headphone jack (like on an ipod/mp3 player etc) I could only hear audio through the headphones and would have to unplug to hear through the TV speakers again.

I fixed it by plugging in the base to the RW audio outputs on the back of the TV. This way both the headset and speakers work at the same time. So if I want to hear the speakers only, I turn off the headset. If I want to hear only headset, I just turn the TV volume to 0 but I can still hear through the headphones. Or you can just use both.

Which ones would the RW audio outputs be? As of right now the headphones are plugged into the headphone jack but what you describe sounds like exactly what I'm looking for.

On the back of my tv I have:

Headphone Out
Digital Audio Out
Audio Out

Sorry when I said RW, I meant the red and white audio out ports. Similar to the RW cables you would use for composite/component for input but instead as an output.

Assuming you have standard headphones, yes. I don't even know if they make those though (probably) but my wireless set was opposite came with RW cables but an adapter to go to 3.5mm.

Yea a quick google search did show returns for female 3.5 mm to male RCA cables. So a $5 soln is defintiely possible.

Actually when I checked monoprice, I only found the female RCA to male 3.5mm. I was kinda shocked but other stores seemed to have em.
