This is exactly what is working on my DS 920+. I purchased this adapter on August 28 for $19.99. You can download and install the driver published on https://github.com/bb-qq/r8152 to make it work on your DS 920+.

10Gbps usb-c hub was $14.99 for me with code and coupon! Just got 2.5Gbps fiber, so score!

update: the hub may be 10Gbps, but the ethernet is only 1Gbps

"USB-C 3.2 Hub + 10Gbps Ethernet Adapter $19.99 - $2 'clipped' coupon - $3 w/ promotion code 15FXA6P8 = $14.99" is misleading, the Ethernet is 1Gbps

This would replace the two existing dongles I have. But it creates a new dilemma. I would now have 3 dongles. Lol

I have used that driver for a 2.5G adapter on my Synology, and it worked for light loads, but oddly enough, it would crash randomly under sustained loads. I'm not sure if it was something specific about my setup, though.

It has worked on my DS 920+ for 6 weeks without any issues. I have done heavy load uploading, downloading, and simultaneous uploading/downloading. It can get sustained speed of 280 MB/s for uploading or downloading only. Simultaneous uploading/downloading speed can reach about 160 MB/s each channel. The file sizes for speed tests were all over 5GB, and the biggest file was 27 GB.
I read from the Github link that the drivers are not stable for some Synology models. You may need to check if your driver is compatible to your NAS model.

So I'm in the midst of redoing my synology and plex setup. Currently have my synology 1815+ via Ethernet 1Gbps but I was wondering if it would be better to directly connect it to my plex server computer running Ubuntu since USB has faster speeds.

Is something like this possible of using direct usb for plex server instead of using Ethernet?

This is the one you want to use with the updated chip on synology with the drivers mentioned above. I have been using this for 6 months with no issues on a 920+.

The 5 in 1 hub only has a gigabit ethernet if that matters for you. The 10Gbps is referring to the USB-C/USB-A 3.2 connections. The OP post is a bit misleading.
