In case anyone is still thinking it's six of one, there's hard data on maple. https://www.sciencedirect.com/sci...via%3Dihub Preprints seem to confirm that this holds for oak as well, and it's likely that most basic hardwoods will have similar properties.

Unfortunately, bamboo isn't seeming to hold up as well in testing, but still better than plastic.
