A normal coffee mug is 8 - 12 oz.

My Keurig as an example has 6, 8, or 10 oz. options. You have to go to a model with the option to fill a travel mug to get up to the 12 oz. typically.
I guess my expectations were unrealistic. I thought the 10 oz. mug would work for the 10 oz. brew I usually make. But it was right up to the top of the mug (no room for cream or sugar).

But it's all good because my mug is now free...

Used to have this gimmick device. Then switched to zojirushi steel mug for $20 which does a better job than this with no power required.
Oh so you can set the temp to exactly what you want and it will hold that temp?

Maybe I'm just drinking too fast. By the time I'm done with my cup, it's still quite warm.
If you preheat the mug it keeps longer...

The 10 oz. refurbished mug I got a few weeks ago from Woot was defective (would not update firmware) but they processed a refund and haven't asked me to return the item. Also note that the 10 oz. capacity is quite limited- it's not the size of a typical mug.
The main reason I stopped using my 1st gen Ember mug. 10oz is too little.

Just bought a 14oz stainless steel one at Costco for $99 dollars and was proud of my deal. Good thing they have a great return policy.

Hows your feedback on these? Are these worth and do they keep it hot for a long time?

Just a heads up. I incorrectly received a first gen mug on the previous deal. It was fairly easy to return for a refund, but a hassle still. I think after trying these for a few days I'm probably in the "not really worth it" camp. I might be more compelled by something larger that I can take to work and maintains a hot beverage for a few hours.

They really need to release a v3 of this mug that has induction charging. The two gold pins setup is absolutely horrible.
After about 6 months, one of my pins got stuck down (so common there's parts and YouTube videos of how to fix it yourself) and it stopped charging (a piece of tin foil solved it while I waited for charging base replacement). Support was "okay," took about a week to initially respond.
After about a year or so, now that bottom seal thing that covers the charging coil is starting to fall off.
When it eventually dies, I think I'll start looking for a different brand.

Mine was a first gen rated at 60 min and I probably got closer to 30-40 min of heating time. I think it burned 15+ min just heating up the mug itself.

I get why one would be skeptical of these mugs but we have two and use them all the time and friends and family all like them too. Get the 14 oz though, skip the 10 oz.

It's not just for keeping coffee warm, it's nice to have it gently heat up coffee when you go for a mid morning cup and the pot might have cooled off some or you use cold creamer and it cools down the coffee too much.

It's one of those things that sounds kinda stupid and overpriced but then you use one and you see the value.

Preheat it with your first cup of coffee. Keeps the second cup hotter longer.

Used to have one. Worked fairly well but I found the need to charge it and wash it by hand was more work than my lazy butt liked. A yeti mug deals in the heat pretty well so I switched to that.
