Not seeing the lower prices on the ALSO AVAILABLE headphones. I've been looking at some of these to possibly replace the Bose QC 35 that I left on a plane, because they would be cheaper if I left them again, and I only fly about once a year, and have lots of other headphones for normal use (without ANC).
I own the Q20. They're fairly solid for airplane travel, but you can hear voices so they're not really useful for me when I'm trying to block out noise in a cafe unless I'm playing background music (contradicts the rtings.com review, but this was my experience), in which case even cheap IEM are sufficient and don't make my ears get hot. One noticeable issue is that when you move very quickly, especially "heavy footed" activity, say you jog with them (I can't imagine people using this for that) or you walk down a flight of stairs, there's a sharp static noise that these headphones makes. They are definitely not meant for exercising with, unless they've fixed that issue.
I don't travel that much so I haven't used them in a while and the earpads have started to disintegrate a lot to the point they are unusable. Replacements cost ~$12 last time I checked. They have started to break at the part where the headphones rotate, but nothing serious. I was having problems with the battery not charging fully, but they still had decent battery life the last time I used them about ~1 year ago.
I bought these for the same price roughly ~5 years ago, so I'm kind of surprised these are still this expensive and the newer models haven't dropped to this price. I see they updated the Q20 with USB-C which is a nice improvement.
I can't really compare the Q20 to the other models, but I'd say for $40 they are not bad. I don't think they have excellent ANC, so don't expect to use them to tune out noises in a crowded area, but for airplane travel they are sufficient but not spectacular and they do have decent audio quality.
I'd actually like to charge my Q20s up and see if it still works well. I don't know how sitting in my shelf for the last year might have impacted the battery life... Even if they've gone bad at this point ~4 years of service out of a $40 headphones is not bad. I just can't get myself to pay $12 for new earpads for $40 headphones...
