This version has no gyro, and no support for Switch, unlike the Ultimate Bluetooth version of this controller. That makes the other one preferable in my eyes, even though it's slightly more expensive.
As someone who has had 5+ 8bitdo controllers, I feel like it is important to mention that they are all ergonomic nightmares compared to the standard Xbox, dualsense/dualshock, or switch pro controllers. They feel like they were shaped by an AI and never held by a human before full production. They all force your hand to twist in a certain way that makes it start aching after 20 minutes or so.
I wouldn't be so confident in saying this if there weren't hundreds of other reviews and posts talking about this issue.
Here are the controllers I've tried from 8bitdo that have this issue-
8bitdo ultimate Bluetooth (and regular ultimate, same shape, slightly less weight)
8bitdo ultimate c
8bitdo ultimate 2c (all c models have this issue)
8bitdo sn30 pro
8bitdo pro 2 bt
This is technically a preference thing and won't effect everyone, but it is also obviously an issue given there are so many complaints about this specific thing.
It's kinda sad to see as 8bitdo controllers are generally so great in every other aspect (compatibility, latency, features, software and much more)
I came here to check exactly this! The versioning of these is crazy. They have so many versions, picking the one that meets your needs is a pain. I ordered one previously thinking it was a great deal on the Ultimate Bluetooth version, only to realize it was a lesser model. Luckily I picked slow shipping and got it cancelled.

I love this controller, it's perfect for a PC gamer. All it takes is 1 USB port, it's always charged because of the dock, you take it out and it syncs instantly, and the buttons are ABXY. In for a 2nd one for my son

When I posted the other deal I thought it was a bad deal until it hit popular lol. Their naming is worse than most.

I have problems with hand pain and the 8bitdo Pro 2 BT is one of the more comfortable controllers I own, so I have to disagree on this one. The Ultimate looks like a blocky nightmare, though.

I agree 100%. With all the praise I see these get I was wondering if I was crazy for really not liking the 8bitdo shape, but seems like I'm not alone

Got one recently and its fantastic. The only downfall is it doesn't work in Bluetooth for Windows, dongle only. It works wireless with Steam Deck though
Just got this recently. The sticks feel like they have a dead zone even after configuring through the 8bitdo software. They also don't have a predictable and linear resistance which makes it hard to aim in fps. Like the fact that these are hal but just doesn't feel as nice as an Xbox controller.
can this controller be used wired just incase it runs out of batteries?
I use mine with the cable when the battery is low. I have the xbox ultimate version. The controller shape is not good. But manageable for me. I have long fingers. 👉

I just returned this controller and got myself a good-old xbox controller from walmart for $44. The difference is night and day.
I commented this deal on the other thread for Ultimate Bluetooth for $50, the difference seemed to be in the firmware. This version reports as an Xbox controller while the previous reports as a Switch. I was ok with that but also was unaware this has gyro and the other didn't.
