This is a 4 ms GtG monitor with 120 Hz.

Samsung's Odyssey G9 1000r (Best Buy $799) is 1 ms 240 Hz.

Samsung Odyssey G93SC OLED is 0.03 ms 240 Hz ($950 Amazon)

There is also the Samsung 57" NEO G9. 1 ms 240 Hz. It is equivalent to 2x4K monitors. It runs around $1500 but has dropped to $1K on occasions. It uses quantum for mini leds.

If you are into FPS or MOBA games, you will have an edge with Samsung. My first LCD monitor is 1 ms (28" Hanns from the 90s still works 100%). I have a hard time buying anything higher than 2 ms. I notice the difference.

I personally like Samsung monitors. They are usually rated #1.

That said, this appears to be a solid monitor. The 1 year 0 dead pixel warranty is great to have. The price is right.

Checking reviews. Samsung's G9 that is most comparable is considered top tier. This monitor is considered mid tier. If you can afford it, buy the Samsung. You will get a better picture.
I have this. I like it and it's pretty good. It has built in speakers. One drawback is the hdmi ports are 2.0 which means they max out the refresh rate at 60 hz. You need to use DP to get the advertised 120 hz. I also have USB C to DP and get 120 there
This is 49", not 34"

with 5120x1440 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 32:9 aspect ratio, and 1800R curvature

A gaming, multimedia, and productivity powerhouse, the new Dark Matter™ 49" Curved Gaming Monitor features an expansive 5120x1440 Dual Quad HD (DQHD) resolution and a super ultrawide 32:9 aspect ratio, for a jaw dropping, cinematic field of view for everything from work to play. Equivalent to two 27" 16:9 monitors side‑by‑side, its unique combination of resolution and aspect ratio in a single, continuous panel are ideally suited to replace dual monitor setups, eliminating the annoyance of bezels obstructing the view. The CSOT® VA panel with Quantum LCD technology delivers a wider gamut of colors, enhanced contrast, and a quick response time. Two DisplayPort® 1.4 and two HDMI® 2.0 video inputs, provide a host of connectivity options. The Dark Matter 49" Curved Gaming Monitor features a grade A panel and is backed by our 1 Year PixelPerfect™ guarantee.

It's kind of wild that we're seeing so many curved 34" displays at $200 and monoprice's version is $400

I am searching for a curved monitor solely for work, I get this is not targeted towards that, with that out of the way is the cost right for this size monitor or is there a more affordable option? Curious if anyone has put two smaller curved side by side

I had a monoprice dark matter (the smaller one) and it looked great and performed well but it had 2 stuck pixels afte only 3 years. I've had dozens of monitors and so far the monoprice is the only one that has had a stuck pixel.

I have had my eye on the Neo G9 for a while and haven't seen it under 1500. If it ever gets down to 1000 I will bite.

I currently have a big 43" 4K Acer and I love the big screen, but it isn't as nice as the Samsungs and is only 60hz. Also it has developed a "tear" in the middle of the screen that I have been living with, you only see it on really bright full screen stuff and I don't notice it in games. But I know it's there and it haunts me. Also Acer build quality is "meh", super plastickly and makes all kinds of weird noises when I am messing with the controller nub to change inputs etc.

TLDR, go for Samsung if you can afford it

I initially bought this monitor post-COVID for working from home and paired it with a ergotron arm wall mount to save space on my desk. Recently, I upgraded to the Samsung Odyssey 49" Ultrawide, and the difference between the OLED and VA panel is significant. The Odyssey's OLED display offers much richer blacks and more vibrant colors. In contrast, the HDR feature on the Darkmatter monitor is almost ineffective and doesn't enhance the image quality when enabled. However, for its price, the Darkmatter provides good value in terms of screen real estate. Does a good job for what it is.

Excellent info, thank you! For someone who isn't a gamer and will be using the monitor for spreadsheets, day to day work, etc. Would you recommend this one or a Samsung?
My current setup is 2 side by side 27" QHD 2560 x 1440.

Monoprice doesn't lie about the specs. Like Samsung does. For instance the Samsung G9 claims 1ms and 240hz. But when 3rd party tested. It couldn't do 240hz with HDR without dropping quality. And was close to 4ms.
