The Legion will perform much better so it depends on how much you value the portability and nicer screen on the Asus.
My values seem to change the longer I'm looking for a laptop.

At first I was fine with a Ryzen 7 7735hs and 4060, then 4070 laptops started dropping in price a little. Now it's why spend $1600+ on a 4070 laptop when I can get a 4080 laptop for $1800+ lol.

There's no way in hell I need a 4090 in a laptop though so it ends with a 4080.

edit Will be picking up the Legion today. Nice to have a MC near me.

This is similar to Strix Scar 16. M16 ~ Legion 7
I'm sure the battery life is atrocious and the ports leave me wanting a little as they are a bit slow.

I have this exact laptop...

Here is what to do:

First thing to do is to remove the pre-installed antivirus and just go with windows defender and the the free malwarebytes... its all you need. Next thing to do is check for updates in the vantage app, update (I dont recommend bios updates) and then uninstall the vantage app. The next thing to do is download Lenovo Legion toolkit here:

https://github.com/BartoszCicheck...tag/2.21.3

That is essentially Vantage but uses much less resources.

The next thing to do is type "Startup Apps" in the search bar in windows 11.

Disable everything except the realtek audio driver and the windows security notifications.

Reboot..

Next update your geforce drivers (open geforce experience).

Next, install the xbox app and xbox accessories app if you are an xbox controller user and gamepass user.

Next, go into nvidia control panel and make sure in the settings that power management mode says "Maximum performance"

Next, make sure enable G-sync is selected for the laptop display in nvidia control panel.

Next, download steam, gog, and epic games and make sure to get your free weekly epic games.

next, if you are gamepass user, download the Hellblade 2 to test your system, its a next-gen game that looks insane on this laptop. Some games are crashing with RTX ray tracing enabled (Witcher 3 for example).

next, go ahead and type startup apps again and disable anything except the mentioned above..

next, disable fast startup (will get rid of hiccups in games)...

https://www.windowscentral.com/so...%20startup

Lastly, remember to user the FN-Q keyboard command often... if you are not gaming, make sure the power light is on blue...

getting the bottom off to upgrade the nvme is a pain in the you know what.. hardest laptop ever... youtube it first...

Today's the last day of the 10%. So I'm tempted to do the same and I'll pick it up on the weekend. I just wonder how much better the deals may get on BF. I can wait a month for another $100+...

Picked mine up today and went to look at the display version.

Doesn't feel premium and she's heavy, Jim. I was thinking I'd be ok with going 16" and a bit heavier but I may just not like this after all.

Does this share the intel voltage stabilty issues with 13/14 gen? I know they patched the desktops in microcode /bios. Just haven't heard a clear answer on intel laptops as some are affected and many are not.

Hours left until this 10% off deal form MicroCenter is gone. Got mine ordered. Also, being around NY/NJ, you should definitely go to NJ as you'd save about $100 on sales tax! Yonkers had $159, while Patterson - $59 tax when I was placing the order.

How do you tell if micro center has open box inventory? Does it say on the web page or do you need to call the stores to check? I didn't see anything on the web page.
