Think you need to take another look at the link you provided. It clearly states a 2:1 conversion from Core to Ultimate, which would mean a 3-month Core converts to 45-days of Ultimate, not the 38-days you said in your post.

Still lower than the previous conversion rate though, but kind of expected that over time they would continue to lower the conversion rate.

I miss the days of the conversion hack via a VPN that made codes super cheap. This is still a solid deal.

You literally copied & pasted from the same Microsoft support article I linked in my post. If you're using an adblocker, it will block most links on SD.

Anyways the article has a section for "How codes convert when redeeming for Game Pass Ultimate or Game Pass Standard". That's where conversion rates for ACTIVE Ultimate subsriptions are listed. If you got 50 days Ultimate from a 3 months Core code, it was BEFORE the latest changes (which happened mid-September).

I think he's referencing if you are already on a GPU plan what does redeeming a 3m core code add. It used to add ~50 days to your GPU sub but it's less now.

I was referring to conversions for ACTIVE Ultimate subs, which is what the other posters was talking about.

Okay. It is now 45 days instead of 50. I amended my original post. The methods I outlined are still cheaper than this deal for the same number of days.

I see, thanks. Is the conversion ratio for game pass core to GPU the same as live to GPU? I thought I did the latter previously, but can't remember anymore

Yes, if one's Ultimate sub is expiring soon, the best option is to let it expire.

Not sure why the link isn't working, but I edited the community wiki and put it there.

Xbox Live Gold is dead... Microsoft rebranded it into Game Pass CORE last year, and changed conversion rates last month.
