Red version is slightly cheaper at $12.69. I didn't see any differences after a quick glance. I imagine the red one would be more forgiving to red sauce stains, if you plan on eating out of the container:

Feel like you can do the same thing by, I don't know, ANYTHING that is microwave safe with a lid. Put some drainage holes in the lid of a rectangular Pyrex dish and you're better off.
Reminds me of all those microwavable scrambled eggs things years ago, when you can do the same thing in a coffee mug

People make fun of this, but I really love it. I have a big pot that I could use, but it uses up like two gallons of water and takes 30 minutes to boil. With this I only need to fill it up to how many portions I need and it's done in 10 minutes. Been a game changer for me.
I bought one of these back in December 2016 and it has got a lot of use when I want to make small portions of pasta, mac and cheese, etc. I think it is time for another as mine has become a bit discolored over the years.
BTW: I got a kick out of the listing on Amazon that says Material: Aluminum. ;-)
I would wonder how safe it is to use plastic like this in a microwave and all the chemical leeching. When you take your cancer screening one of the questions is 'How often do you use plastic in the Microwave for cooking. It does look like a handy gadget though.

$30 is just way over inflated and ppl see the 50% and think it's a slick deal.
