98.6% positive feedback after 23 years with over 60k reviews

manufactured refurbished, 2 year warranty, free returns

amazing seller imo

their negative reviews aren't worse than some of my experience with best buy and Walmart

Hate prebuilt but this is a good rig to play any game at 1440p

Yeah standard parts. The case has terrible airflow and the cooler is subpar. I swapped mine to a 4000d, it is working beautifully

Mediocre deal at the very best.

12700K + B760M+ 16GB DDR4 for $260 keeps coming back at NE, I think it's bound to happen more especially after Ultra 200 release, probably going to be the de facto "MSRP" before 12th gen run out of stock.

7800XT is $430 which offers equivalent -ish performance at lower power draw and more VRAM

H5 Flow is $60 and RM750x Shift/TT GF3 750 is $80

$30 get you an ID-Cooling A620 Pro SE

$60 1TB M.2

For $90 more you can get yourself a brand new build with quality parts and legit warranties. Also 2 games which may be worth something to someone, especially Space Marine 2 is a legit game.
DIY is not an option for everybody. I'm going to assume you don't go into all the threads on Slickdeals to tell ppl to make it at home instead

(once upon a time, I tried to build my own switch and iPad from parts and it ended up costing more money lol)

That 12700K + B760M+ 16GB DDR4 motherboard can't keep up with the i7 supposedly.

And those numbers you came up with is now $120 more than this not $90, while still on some 3 years old CPU and DDR4. I'm not entirely sure if throwing almost $1k onto an older-gen PC is a good idea.

You are obviously not the target audience for this. Spamming threads with component lists to build it yourself isn't going to convince many people to build it themselves, especially if they only save $90.

Didn't ask anyone to DIY, this is more of a gauge to judge if a price is competitive or "SD" worthy. Most potential pre-build buyers don't know much about the most updated DIY market pricing and it can impose difficulties on analyzing a deal. If you've been lurking here long enough, you will see most FP prebuild deals can handsomely beat similar spec'd DIY PC, this one? Not so much.

That's quite a strawman, and I don't. Because I only comment on things I'm confident that I'm bringing accurate value, more or less. And can we acknowledge that not all DIY are equa in terms of difficulties. I'm not here to advocate everyone to make their own desks as carpentry at the very least require an investment in specific tools. If anything, SD and a few reddit subs made me realize that I could totally build my PC and I was a Dell XPS desktop buyers for years. One thing good about this forum is that a lot of times it gives you the eyesight that you wouldn't have possessed otherwise, and I sure hope my post can be helpful in that sense.

And it would still run much better than a non-k chip on proprietary mobo in a hot oven case with an awful cooler. Can we agree on that?

And you are totally throwing $800 into evene older hardware if you were to go with this build? I'm not entirely sure about your point? With the bundle you really just throw $200+ on a "dated" (yet very capable) CPU bundle, all the rest are very solid foundation for future updates.

And if the new 0x129 microcode is proven to be stable, there is a slight upgrade on the same socket as well. I guess one can hope.

I acknowledge that. But meanwhile I think it's also undeniable not all DIY PC builders started that from first build and there is a small overlap between the two. I don't mind triggering someone if I can bring in the value for those who are on the fence

where are you getting the cpu-mobo and ram combo for 260
Keep an eye on these two deals. They have been coming back and forth for the past month. Great entry to mid level bundle to get you a very capable pc for the next couple years.

This is exactly the same case that I transplanted mine into, adding a water cooler.

I'm not going to argue if you're right or not, because I understand what it says is not always the truth

but it literally says "manufacture refurbished"
It actually doesn't say that, and that's how they want you to interpret. eBay refurbished has multiple levels, but for certified refurbished category, it "claims" to be "refurbished by the manufacturer or a manufacturer-approved vendor." Now there are several issues with this.
1. We are relying on eBay to approve sellers to use this category, and unfortunately, sellers get kicked off after being caught with foul plays, which means we can't fully trust or rely on eBay's ability to ensure the validity of sellers' claims. eBay also makes sellers sign NDA when they apply to the eBay certified program, so we don't know what exactly they are or they aren't doing to filter out bad players.
2. Even if eBay did a good job during a seller's initial application process, once approved, there isn't much that will stop a seller from abusing that and play naughty. You can find many evidence of this, but here are a few: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmaster..._off_ebay/
This one was actually sold by the same eBay seller: https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLa...furbished/
And another example:
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Buy...p/34596594
3. There is also a problem with eBay's seller ratings, especially for sellers that have been around for a while. Until eBay caught up, it used to be very easy to fake/manipulate positive feedback ratings in eBay. I had personally seen underground servers that offered this. eBay fixed their loophole, but there were a ton of sellers that had already built high positive ratings through that trick. I recommend looking up sellers in other places, rather than blindly trusting eBay ratings. For example, for this particular seller, their profile ratings are nowhere near as good as eBay's.

look for a 4070 laptop at $800. I got one at $650, which won't happen again, but $800 happens all the time

4070 and 3080 should be similar
4070 laptop won't be 4070 desktop performance, I would assume at the very least a 20% performance loss but it's probably much bigger.

I didn't take your post as an argument. Just wanted to share info to help you (and other community members) understand things that are more than meets the eye in the world of eBay so you can make fully informed deicisions.
